Maya Bar graduated summa cum laude from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelors of Arts in Philosophy and a minor in Professional Writing with an emphasis on civic engagement. As a professional writer, Maya strives to write stories about social injustices in a captivating and comprehendible way... As the daughter of two Israeli immigrant parents, Maya has witnessed the hardships of immigrating to United States amidst its rigid immigration laws. As her parents fought to build a life for themselves and their children in America, Maya watched in awe. Just as her parents fought to live in the United States, Maya wants to continue to fight for the rights of those who want to bring their talents and cultures to America.
