After leaving his US Navy career in 1951, he took a position at his father's Business, McElroy Manufacturing Corporation in Littleton, MA. In the beginning he worked through the shipping and receiving, machine shop, assembly lines and office work which of course included purchasing, bookkeeping, and government contract law... Additionally, McElroy produced some of the same high-speed Morse telecommunications equipment previously manufactured by McElroy Manufacturing Corporation.
