I am a biomedical engineer and entrepreneur. Throughout high school and college, I felt driven to become a cardiac surgeon. Because I also valued creative expression and working with my hands, I chose to major in biomedical engineering. As I took more biomedical engineering courses, I realized that I really enjoyed and excelled in the courses that taught medical device design. I liked working with a group to problem solve and to brainstorm innovative solutions. I believe I was drawn to entrepreneurship from an early age, before I even knew what an entrepreneur was; during high school, a coupIe of friends and I tried to launch a skateboarding company that designed skateboard decks and "sponsored" local skateboarders! Growing up, my brother and I were taught that it is our responsibility to do good, to positively impact others' lives, and to leave the world a better place, and these missions remain my biggest drive...
