DR. MONICA D'ANTONIO

Dr. Monica D'Antonio just completed her first year of a four-year term on the Norristown Area School District (NASD) Board of Directors. On the Board, she serves as the Chair of the Policy Committee and is the newly appointed Legislative Liaison. Her day job takes place at Montgomery County Community (MCCC) where she is a Professor of English. In addition to her work at MCCC and NASD, she is passionate about community engagement and progressive policy. She is a member of the West Norriton Human Relations Committee and serves as a Democratic committeeperson in West Norriton. Dr. D'Antonio has participated in countless voter outreach events and has volunteered on local, state, and national campaigns. She is a tutor/mentor at the Center for Culture, Art, Education, and Training (CCATE) in Norristown and leads a monthly mystery book discussion group at the Norristown Public Library. She lives in West Norriton with her husband and cat.

MR. AVERY MANNING

Avery Manning is a native of Eagleville, Pennsylvania. He graduated Cum Laude from West Chester University (WCU) with a degree in Professional Studies and dual minor in Business Law and Business Geography Information Systems. Avery had the opportunity to intern through the Congressional Black Caucus on Capitol Hill, in Senator Bob Casey's office, and the pleasure to work with the Pennsylvania Democratic Party on President Biden's Campaign.

MR. CHRISTOPHER JARAMILLO

Mr. Jaramillo joined the Norristown Branch of the N.A.A.C.P. back in April of 2017. His passion for the education and empowerment of individuals paired with his love for uplifting the diverse community in which he currently lives in led him to seek out the organization for righteous causes.

MR. RASHAAD BATES - Treasurer

Rashaad Bates has been a Norristown resident for over 15 years and has a passion for technology. Mr. Bates has been in the tech field for over a decade and has worked in IT departments for companies such as Staples, American Aerospace Advisors, J.W. Pepper & Son and his own computer repair company APLIGC (Always Picked Last in Gym Class).

MR. THADDAEUS PEAY III

Mr. Thaddaeus Peay III has been an enthusiastic chapter member, focused on bringing our area youth into the important conversations and actions need in our community. He is a Bowie State graduate and currently pursuing his Master's degree at Cabrini University. He works at Norristown Area High School, supporting his fellow educators and students.

Mrs. Angelique Hinton - President

Angelique Hinton has been a resident of the Norristown area for over 35 years and has a passion for empowering her community. Mrs. Hinton spent 20 years of her career working in Client Service for Vanguard, the Financial Investment Company based in Malvern, before following her passion and becoming an organizer both in her Community and Politically. It was through her organizing work that Angie deepened her understanding of the huge injustices and inequalities plaguing communities of color. That knowledge drove her to deepen relationships and collaborate with organizations like the NAACP and fellow organizers to expand community outreach in her efforts to empower and advocate on behalf of equity for her community. When she's not fighting for equity in all things for all people, Angie enjoys spending time with family & friends. She also loves to travel and learn about different cultures around the world.

Mrs. Arlene Gordon

Arlene Ramsey-Gordon, is a lifelong resident of Norristown. Arlene attended Temple University for Business Administration and Real Estate and has worked for over 30 years as a professional mortgage banker, most recently working as a commercial lender. Arlene is the CEO of Gordon Community Development Association, a CDC Company. In her spare time she likes to travel, is an avid reader and also author of a children's book, "Bluebird and Friends" Recycling Adventures for Children.

MRS. JILL MYERS

Jill Rivera Myers has been a dedicated English teacher at Norristown Area High School for 15 years. She obtained both her undergraduate in English Education and graduate degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Temple University, and is currently working on an additional Masters in English Literature at West Chester University.

MRS. LAURA SMITH-LAWRENCE

Ms. Laura Smith has been a resident of Norristown for over 40 years. She attended Norristown High School, obtained a bachelor's degree in Human Resource and a Masters of Business Administration. Ms. Smith worked in the Pharmaceutical Industry (Wyeth/SmithKline/Merck) for over 15 years. She enjoys leading meetings for medical professionals and researching cutting edge pharmaceutical drugs.

MS. PRECIOUS TEMPSON

Ms. Precious Tempson is a Norristown native who joined the Greater Norristown NAACP in 2019. Precious has a passion for economic literacy and revitalizing small businesses in Norristown. Her goal as the Economic Development Committee Chair is to increase access to employment opportunities for Norristown residents and businesses in County development projects. Additionally, she plans to provide training in the principles of financial literacy and entrepreneurship. Precious earned a B.S. in Business Marketing and a minor in Advertising from Kutztown University. While attending Kutztown University, she helped re-establish the university's NAACP chapter. Currently, she works as a Project Service Administrator in the Retail Division for The Vanguard Group.

MS. SHERIDAN EARLE

Sheridan Earle is a resident of West Norriton who joined the Greater Norristown N.A.A.C.P. in the summer of 2020. Looking for ways to give back and get more involved in her community, this chapter has offered a welcoming space for collaboration and civic engagement. She works full-time as Supervisor of Social Media for the behavioral health division of Universal Health Services, Inc. Understanding the power of social media to connect and empower communities, she was happy to accept the role of Chair for the Social Media Committee of the Greater Norristown N.A.A.C.P. In her free time, Sheridan works with other local activist and community groups, such as Montco Activists United, volunteers with Home At Last Dog Rescue and serves as Judge of Election for her local voting precinct. She is also a yoga and meditation teacher, finding joy in offering the practice to others. She enjoys spending leisure time reading or being outdoors with her husband and dog.
