OSTROM AND ASSOCIATES

The Digital Age Learning Systems Movement was founded by Alec I. Ostrom of Ostrom & Associates, the late Don Prentice, whose consulting firm was New Perspectives, and Brian Hack of EMD Music. Alec and Brian worked together for many years in a California high school district where Brian was a high school social science and music teacher. Alec Ostrom worked as a social science teacher, vice principal, principal and assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction. Alec and Don started working together in 1993 when Don was employed by the district to design an entirely new process for improving curriculum and instruction. It was called the Design Team Process. During the time that the Design Team Process was in place, district high school teachers created 100 new career-oriented courses, career pathways, and career academies in the space of three years from 1996 to 1999.
