POWDER COATING RESEARCH GROUP - Key Persons

Kevin has been formulating and manufacturing powder coatings since he began his career in 1978 at the Glidden Paint Company. He held various technical positions during his 15 years there including Group Leader - Automotive Coatings, and Section Leader - European Powder Laboratory while he was stationed in Birmingham, England for Glidden's parent ICI Paints. Kevin is currently: President of the ChemQuest Powder Coating Research Group, Inc. Technical Editor of Powder Coated Tough magazine (Powder Coating Institute - USA) Editor of Focus on Powder Coatings newsletter (Elsevier) Editorial board for International Paint & Coating Magazine (Italy) His Ask Joe Powder column appears in many publications including Powder Coated Tough magazine, Polymers Paint & Coatings Journal (UK). Co-producer of the Powder Coating Summit Conference (powdersummit.com) Producer of the Ask Joe Powder "powdcast" (www.askjoepowder.com) Other positions he has held include: Board of Directors of the Powder Coating Institute (2015-2016) Chief Technology Officer - Matrix Powder Technology, LLC. (2014-2017) Development Manager at Herberts Powder Coatings (1993-1997) President of Wabash Powder Coatings (1997-1998) President and owner of IRIS Powder Coatings (1999-2001) P./General Mgr. for Jamestown Powder (2002-2005) Editor of Finishing Today magazine (2006-2008) Technical Director - Hentzen Powder Coatings (2007-2008) In 2007 Biller established the Powder Coating Research Group. This R&D laboratory is a center of excellence in powder coating innovation, evaluation, and testing. Kevin has four US Patents in industrial coating technology. Nathan started in the powder coating industry as a third shift operator at the fledgling Jamestown Powder Coatings back in 2001. He was working his way through college with an IT major. He learned the technology from the ground up: initially in manufacturing, but quickly advancing to QC including adjusting formulas in production. He worked there until 2005 when Jamestown moved the plant to Pennsylvania. Nathan resumed his powder coating career in 2011 when he joined the PCR Group as an entry level formulator. Since then, he has advanced to Product Development Manager responsible for formulation strategies and new product development. He became a partner in the PCR Group business and is now Vice President of ChemQuest Powder Coating Research.

Nick Page has worked in the lab since 2015. In addition to preparing, applying, and testing coatings, he also records, edits, and produces The Ask Joe Powder Powdcast.
