Ann Seagren

Dr. Seagren is preceptor for the University of Minnesota, Duluth Medical School RMSP (Rural Medical Scholars Program). She teaches first and second year medical students in a longitudinal rotation over 13 months of their first two years of medical school. She also teaches second and third year residents in the University of Minnesota rural track. She has served as volunteer medic for tournaments held by the Somerset Youth Hockey Association. Dr. Seagren and her husband Bruce live on Cedar Lake with their two children and several pets. They enjoy fishing, boating, swimming, traveling, and watching their children enjoy many activities. Danielle Redburn

David Nordin

Job Titles:

Dr. Nordin is a general orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in primary and revision replacement of the hip, knee, and shoulder joints. He has particular experience with the direct anterior approach to hip replacement and, prior to joining St. Croix Health, helped to train other orthopedic surgeons in this technique. Dr. Nordin also has interests in caring for patients with fractures, sports injuries, and other joint disorders. He evaluates patients at both the St. Croix Falls and Frederic locations. Dr. Nordin dedicated the first year of his practice to volunteer work in Honduras and is excited be a part of the community based mission of St. Croix Health. When not at work, Dr. Nordin enjoys time with his family, especially time outside hiking, biking, canoeing, or running.

Dr. Pineda Bernal

Dr. Pineda Bernal is a graduate of Universidada CES Escuela de Medicina in Coloumbia. He continued his medical education as an Internal Medicine Resident at the Harlem Hospital Center in New York, NY where he also studied as a General Surgery Resident. Dr. Pineda Bernal completed his Rheumatology Fellowship at the University of Southwest Texas in Dallas, TX. Dr. Pineda Bernal and his wife are avid soccer fans and enjoy the outdoors. John P. Kampa

Dr. Kampa graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School. He previously practiced at Mora Hospital in Mora, MN, after completing his residency and fellowship in Adult Reconstruction and Orthopedic Trauma at Hennepin County Medical Center. Dr. Kampa focuses on hip and knee replacement, fracture management, and hand surgery.

Kheng Joe Lau

Dr. Kheng Lau completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Cook County Health in Chicago, Illinois. He went on to complete a Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolism Fellowship at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Lau takes a special interest in managing diabetes, thyroid, and obesity. In his free time, Dr. Lau enjoys snowboarding, badminton, and travel.

Patrick McDonough

Dr. McDonough is the medical director of the Sports Medicine program and also see adults with muscular skeletal issues. Dr. Pat McDonough has a Fellowship in Sports Medicine from the Mayo Clinic-Florida and considerable experience in the field. A musculoskeletal specialist rather than a surgeon, McDonough's particular interests are in non-surgical musculoskeletal problems. "Sports medicine is an exciting field," McDonough said, "and I enjoy working with the area schools as well as active and ‘wanting to be more active' adults." Care for adults with sports/workplace/musculoskeletal injuries. McDonough works with two general groups of adults. "The first," he explained, "are men and women who are relatively active-the ‘weekend warriors' who are trying to stay active but who have had some injuries over time. In the other group," he continued, "are those who haven't been too active, but would like to be more so. . . and who need some guidance in doing that without injuring themselves or exacerbating a pre-existing condition." Dr. McDonough works with individuals who've had workplace injuries, too, as well as athletes referred to him by the Kinisi Athletic Trainers. "We know so much more today about the many benefits we can derive from staying active," said McDonough. "This is true for anyone, athlete or not, who wants to stay healthy." Dr. McDonough's areas of special interest include sports medicine-competitive and recreational activity-related injuries, utilization of ultrasound with acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries, and optimizing/education regarding nutrition, fitness, and overall health. His sports medicine experience includes work with the National Marathon to Finish Breast Cancer, the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour, the United Football League, the Jacksonville Sports Medicine Program, the University of North Florida, and the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind.
