Through education, collaboration and policy advocacy, we work with development professionals and with state, county and city officials to ensure that development is done with best practices that sustain the River and our drinking water source for future generations. We have directly participated in many cost-effective development solutions now on the ground and have given awards to over 100 firms and agencies for water-protective development and restoration projects... Our legal action aims to help the Birmingham Water Works Board complete its commitment to protect your water and keep water costs as affordable as possible... Cahaba Riverkeeper and Cahaba River Society, represented by the Southern Environmental Law Center, have filed a challenge in Jefferson County Circuit Court against the Birmingham Water Works Board to enforce a settlement agreement that protects land safeguarding a major source of Birmingham's drinking..
