Amy Pearman

Amy is the Controller of Saxet, and she is responsible for maintaining Saxet's books, joint interest billings, revenue disbursement, payables, receivables, payroll, all financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting for all the oil and gas activities, as well as providing support for the preparation of tax returns. She began her career in May 1993 with Sanchez-O'Brien Oil and Gas Corporation, where she was introduced to all aspects of oil and gas operations. After three years of assisting in various departments, Amy was hired in March of 1996 by Saxet to maintain the books of the company. Amy graduated with a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Houston-Downtown in 2002.

Brandon M. Hulings

Brandon is Vice President-Acquisitions and Business Development at Saxet. He works with both the mineral/royalty acquisitions team in the modeling and valuation of potential acquisitions and the mineral portfolio management team by maintaining the mineral management database. Prior to joining Saxet, Brandon interned with several oil and gas companies, gaining a broad exposure to various industry disciplines. Brandon graduated with a B.S. in Applied Geoscience with a minor in Energy Management from Texas Christian University in 2014. He is a member of Young Professionals in Energy and Finance, Houston Producers Forum, Houston Energy Finance Group, and the TCU Alumni Association.

Emily Qualls

Emily is a Senior Accountant at Saxet where she began her career in 2005. She is responsible for overseeing the processing and reconciling of revenue payments from oil and gas properties, accounts payable, payroll, and bank reconciliation. Emily graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from Texas A&M University in 2004 and a B.B.A. in Accounting, cum laude, from University of Houston-Downtown in 2012.

Jake Smith

Job Titles:

Jake is Vice President-Land and Legal at Saxet and has over 10 years of oil and gas land and legal expertise. He joined Saxet in September 2019. In his role at Saxet, Jake works with the land department on various land and royalty projects, assists the acquisitions department with land research and due diligence, and provides legal counsel to the company on various legal matters. Prior to joining Saxet, he worked at Contango Oil & Gas Company for over 7 years, starting as an In-House Landman and steadily rising to Senior Landman and providing legal counsel to the company on various legal aspects. Previously, Jake worked as contract In-House Landman for ConocoPhillips for 2 years. He started his oil and gas career working as a contract Landman for Hollis Energy Services in 2008, researching title and procuring oil and gas leases in South Texas. Jake graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Sam Houston State University in 2005 and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 2008. He has been a licensed attorney in the State of Texas since 2009 and is an active member of The State Bar of Texas.

Lauren Heitmann

Lauren joined Saxet in January 2015, and her responsibilities include managing the office and supporting senior executives. Prior to joining Saxet, Lauren worked in healthcare information systems consulting with Accenture, LLP, in Houston, Texas and as an academic educator. Lauren graduated with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, cum laude, from Texas A&M University in 1996.

Robert E. O'Brien - Founder, President

Robert is the President, owner, and co-founder of Saxet. He brings over 26 years of experience in the oil and gas industry to his present roles as General Partner of Royalty Interests Partnership, LP and RIP3, LP and as Manager of Saxet I Minerals, LLC, Saxet II Minerals, LLC, and Saxet III Minerals, LLC. In these capacities, he oversees the day-to-day functions of Saxet's operations, land, engineering, business development, and accounting disciplines. Robert is directly involved in the Partnership's execution of its business strategy, deal flow generation, deal structuring, acquisition, joint ventures, capital allocation and risk management, marketing and divestiture of assets, capital raising, and partner relations. Since Saxet's inception in 1992, he has co-founded, developed, and sold other Saxet-related companies. Robert graduated with a B.B.A. in Business Finance from Southern Methodist University in 1986. He is currently a member of Houston Producers Forum, Houston Energy Finance Group, Independent Petroleum Association of America, Young Presidents Organization, and All-American Wildcatters.

Sia Wells - CFO

Sia is Chief Financial Officer at Saxet and has over 10 years of experience in tax, accounting and financial reporting specific to the oil and gas industry. Having joined Saxet in June 2014, as CFO, she is responsible for evaluating potential acquisitions and monitoring and analyzing the performance of the company's current assets. Prior to joining Saxet, Sia served as Accounting Manager for a small contract operator based in Texas, with operations in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri and Texas. In this role, she produced monthly JIBs, distributed revenue to investors and royalty interest owners and prepared monthly severance tax returns and production reports for approximately 100 operated wells and 30 outside-operated wells. In addition to production accounting duties, Sia managed the accounting for all seven affiliates of the operator. She also provided consulting services to other small operators, including accounting systems implementation, staff training, and assistance with quarterly financial reporting and year-end audits. Before her role as Accounting Manager, Sia worked at a local CPA firm preparing tax returns and performing bookkeeping services for businesses and individuals in various industries, including the energy sector. In this role, she gained fundamental accounting and tax knowledge she utilizes today.

Walker R. Colt

Walker is Vice President-Engineering and Finance at Saxet. His responsibilities include technical evaluations, reserves management, data analytics, and financial analysis for new and existing business. Walker works closely with management to optimize the value of Saxet's assets by building workflows to monitor and efficiently manage the 4,500+ PDP wells currently under management. He also focuses on new business, performing technical evaluations for all packages bid on by Saxet. Furthermore, he models the financial impacts of acquisitions and new business models to develop new methods to further the company's objectives. Prior to joining Saxet, Walker worked at Contango Oil & Gas Company, gaining experience in completions, production, and reservoir engineering. Walker graduated with a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering in 2013 and an MBA from Rice University in 2020.
