SCLESIS

In Friulano (our local language) Sclesis means "splinters". It's a project born in Faedis, a small town in the hills of north-eastern Italy, out of the wood carving passion of Guido Giavitto. While this passion remained just a hobby for many years, since his retirement in 2015 it has become a daily dedicated activity. The appreciation for woodwork comes from a lifetime in the countryside and the contact with nature, which allow to see the potential for beauty in every piece of wood. Each type of tree has its own characteristics, qualities and personality, and wood carving allows to expose them, thus revealing the deepest colors and the hidden shades and wood grain.
