SoCal Jazz Academy is a community jazz education program that was established in in Orange County, California, by bassist and educator, Dr. Karim Yengsep in 2018. After first couple of years of renting hourly space in Tustin, faced with the need to expand teaching hours the Academy found its new location in Lake Forest in November 2021... Our mission is to provide World class performance-based education with a focus on improvisation and jazz performance practice in group settings and through 1-on-1 instruction... SoCal Jazz Academy offers group combo classes for varied instrumentation and private 1-on-1 and online lessons on Zoom for vocals, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, piano, guitar, bass, and drums to kids, youth, and adults in Lake Forest, Orange County, California.
