Dr. Bryan Bienvenu is a medical oncologist in Baton Rouge at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, and a member of Louisiana Hematology Oncology Associates (LHOA). He received his medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical School in New Orleans. He attended undergraduate school at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where he completed his coursework in three years and was named a General College Distinguished Scholar. He completed his internship and residency at Earl K. Long Medical Center in Baton Rouge where he earned the Lange Medical Publications Award. He chose to continue his training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York with a Medical Oncology Fellowship. At Memorial Sloan Kettering, he focused on the clinical development of new therapeutic agents in phase I and early phase II clinical trials. Dr. Bienvenu was chosen as one of the "Best Doctors" in America. Dr. Bienvenu serves as a clinical assistant professor of medicine at Louisiana State University. Daniel K. David S. Hanson

Dr. David Hanson is board certified in medical oncology and internal medicine. He received his undergraduate degree in biological science at the University of Denver in Denver, Colorado, where he graduated summa cum laude and member of AOA. He then received his Medical Degree at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver, Colorado, where he graduated with honors. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Colorado Health Science Center (UCHSC) where he received the Lange Award for outstanding performance in internal medicine. He chose to continue his work at UCHSC, completing a Fellowship in hematology and oncology. Dr. Hanson was named Fellow in the American College of Physicians (FACP), as well as being chosen as one of the "Best Doctors" in America. Prior to joining Louisiana Hematology Oncology Associates in 1994, Dr. Hanson was Senior Consultant of Hematology and Oncology services at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. He has more than 25 years of clinical, programmatic and administrative leadership, extensive clinical research experience since 1990, and was significantly involved in NCCCP activities since 2007. He currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at LSU-Baton Rouge and through his leadership in this capacity, the clinical trials program was launched at this site in 2007. In addition, he works with LSU Residents at the LSU North Baton Rouge Clinic to provide oncology care to underserved oncology patients in the Greater Baton Rouge area. Dr. Hanson serves as a Principal Investigator for the NCI's CIRB studies at the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center affiliate sites. He was also featured in a 2017 PBS news story about clinical research which highlighted the Cancer Center's contributions in the under served community setting. For over 15 years, he served as the Chairman of the Cancer Integrated Committee of Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. Dr. Hanson is married to a fellow physician. He and his wife enjoy the outdoors whether snow skiing, running, or walking with their dogs.

Dr. Andrew C. Elson

Dr. Andrew C. Elson is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN. He earned a Medical Doctorate from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City, IA and completed a preliminary year internal medicine residency at Tulane University Hospitals and Clinics in New Orleans and a radiation oncology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI. Dr. Constance Blunt

Dr. Faizan I. Malik is a medical oncologist in Covington and Slidell, Louisiana. He completed his undergraduate degree in pre-medicine at the National Science College before he received his medical degree from King Edward Medical University in Pakistan. He earned his Medical Doctorate degree from Harvard Medical School before completing his internship at Brigham and Women's Hospital Department of Medicine and his radiation oncology residency at the Harvard Radiation Oncology Program, all in Boston, Mass. Dr. Kovtun also completed the Harvard School of Public Health Program in Clinical Effectiveness and served on the Brigham and Women's Hospital Radiation Oncology Quality Improvement Committee. Dr. Kovtun also has original peer reviewed publications in "Cancer" and "Brachytherapy" along with numerous presentations, posters and abstracts. Dr. Kovtun is a founder of the Augmented and Virtual Reality in Oncology Lab at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and is the creator of a new software technology aimed to improve the speed, quality, and precision of image-guided treatment planning. "DICOM VR," a novel technology will enable clinicians to intuitively view and manipulate medical images in a 3D virtual reality environment, as well as enable effective communication between providers and patients.
