Alysia Jeske

Alysia Jeske is a Speech-Language Pathologist and Vocologist with a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (University of Alberta) and a Certification of Vocology from the National Center for Voice and Speech (University of Utah). She also has a BA in Applied Linguistics (Trinity Western University). Alysia spent her early childhood in Kenya and her elementary years in Vancouver, Canada. In her teens she lived with her family in Berlin, Germany. This is where she developed her love of languages and passion for songwriting and singing. She currently resides in Vancouver Lower Mainland, B.C., Canada.

Brian Wismath

With a rich musical background, Mr. Wismath is in demand as a clinician and has served as director of Vancouver Peace Choir, University of Victoria Chamber Singers and Tucson Masterworks Chorale, associate conductor of Orpheus Choir of Toronto and Chorus Niagara, and assistant conductor of St. Jacob's Youth Choir (Stockholm, Sweden), Ontario Youth Choir and Opera in Concert Chorus (Toronto). A passionate advocate for the performance of new music, Mr. Wismath has commissioned and premiered numerous works by composers from around the world. He has prepared choruses for Robert Cooper, Laurence Cummings, Steven Devine, Robert Franz, Jeanne Lamon, Tania Miller, Michelle Mourre, Giuseppe Pietraroia, Ivars Taurins, and Timothy Vernon. Mr. Wismath began his education in choral music as a chorister in the Toronto Mendelssohn Youth Choir. After completing a Bachelor of Music at Queen's University, he received a Master of Music in Choral Conducting from the University of Arizona. In 2017 he was awarded the Herbert Drost Award by the British Columbia Choral Federation.

Jaime Babbitt

She started singing professionally at 15, performed at bars, clubs, corporate events, parties and weddings, fronted her own band and toured with the incomparable Leon Russell as his backup singer and percussionist. Kathy Alexander

Kathy Alexander is VP of Curriculum for Singdaptive. She was a staff writer for 6 years at VoiceCouncil Magazine and works for the University of Victoria as a practicum supervisor. Kathy is also a singer, vocal coach and choir director Vocal Performance. Kathy establishes a powerful connection with her audiences in vocal performances that include jazz, pop, rock and classical genres. Career highlights include guest appearances in Europe with Quannah Parker jazz fusion band in Norway, and back on the West Coast with Vision TV's Let's Sing Again, The Sooke Philharmonic Orchestra and the Victoria International Jazz Festival. Kathy performs locally in a cover duo, "Kath and Dave" and has had regular gigs with numerous groups including the Doug Farr Quartet. Her acting and dancing skills have led to many musical theater credits including Mamma Mia (Donna) and the Wizard of Oz (Glinda). She received her Bachelor of Music and Education from the University of Victoria (voice) and studied jazz piano and voice in Capilano University's Jazz Studies program Writing. Kathy is a published co-author with the Ultimate Guide to Singing. She was a regular contributor to VoiceCouncil Magazine, a premiere on-line publication for gigging singers, and continues this work as a founder of Singsician. Her articles include op-ed pieces on star vocalists, a review one of Denmark's most respected vocal festivals, and many interviews with experts on vocal health and technique. She is committed to professional journalistic techniques and has a passion for research and factual accuracy Coaching /Teaching. Kathy has directed numerous choirs, musical theater projects and choral performances including the Victoria Children's Choir, the Grace Men's Choir, and vocal coaching in Dansko Studio's musical theatre program. Kathy taught K-12 music for 6 years in local schools and has a passion for both great pedagogy as well as for maintaining a motivating atmosphere. Her extensive music theory knowledge, piano skills and devotion to constructive pedagogy has enabled her to guide many amateur groups through varying genres. Laura Clapp

Laura Clapp is an artist, songwriter and technology specialist. A graduate of the Berklee College of Music, she has released several albums; her latest one, "Go," with British producer Robbie Bronnimann. Her credits include an international tour as backing vocalist with 80's synth legend, Howard Jones, as well as her own American tour, funded by her fans and CD sales Alongside her career as an artist, Laura has held various marketing roles, including several years as a demo artist for TC-Helicon, TC Electronic and, now, Shure Microphones. Laura Clapp grew up in New England. She's brash, she's honest, and she's happy to be here. Put these things together and you get an artist not afraid to tell it like it is who thrives on love, excitement and a passion for life. After moving to Nashville as a Berklee College of Music graduate, Laura quickly befriended some of Music City's best and it wasn't long before she was singing for a living. This led to countless demo sessions, an incredible journey as backing vocalist for 80's synth legend Howard Jones and the opportunity to share her love of music gear as a product specialist for several music equipment manufacturers. Most recently, Laura joined the legendary Shure Incorporated as their Retail Market Development Specialist, and she is currently working on material for her 4th album. She lives in Guilford with her husband and two incredible daughters. Matthew Howe

Matthew Howe (1962-2022) was a Performing Arts and Musical Theatre Director and Educator. His many positions included Resident Director/Choreographer and Master Teacher at the Tony Award-winning Children's Theatre Company in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In addition to his local projects, Matthew worked as a freelance director and educator locally and internationally. His credits include: Choral Director of the 1200 member ensemble for the Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremonies. Twin Cities Director of the Year (2005/6). Director at the Canadian College of Performing Arts, Performing Arts Director at Pacific Christian Secondary School. Locally, Matthew has worked with The Linden Singers, The Victoria Conservatory of Music, The Belfry Theatre, The Victoria Operatic Society (The Will Rogers Follies, The Wizard of Oz, and Les Miserables), Gotta Getta Gimmick, and The Oak Bay Beach Hotel (It's Christmas!). He graduated with Honors from the University of Victoria in 1985. Through 1997, he taught extensively in high school theatre and music programs, directed and choreographed for a variety of theatre companies, served on church worship teams and performed professionally in the Victoria region.
