STREET SMART

The Salvation Army hostel in the Pleasance, Edinburgh kindly agreed to host out physiotherapy clinic. We were given the initial start up costs by Street Smart - a charity for homeless people - which allowed us to buy basic equipment. We also built up good communication links with the NHS Homeless practice, where we can refer people for medication or further investigations... We also provide physio cover at sports events in Edinburgh and Lothian in return for donations to the Streetsmart homeless charity through Just Giving. We have contacts with the Scottish Homeless Football team and will provide physiotherapy services in the run up to the next Homeless World Cup... We run weekly clinics at the Salvation Army Hostel, 1 Pleasance, Edinburgh, as well as providing an information and advice service for homeless people who use the night shelters in Edinburgh.
