As vice-president, Precertification Education, Andy is responsible for the strategic direction and operational oversight of CPA Canada's precertification education and assessment. With more than 30 years of experience in professional examinations, he provides leadership and guidance to CPA Canada's education and certification staff, volunteers and contractors. Altogether, the team shapes the future of the accounting profession by developing leading-edge educational programs and examinations.
In his role, Andy is also a member of the Professional Education Management Committee and the Certification 2.0 Steering Committee, which addresses the implementation of the CPA profession's reimagined Competency Map, as well as the redesign and redevelopment of the Professional Education Program (PEP).
Previously, Andy was director, Professional Program Examinations at CPA Canada. During this time, he oversaw all activities associated with the PEP and Preparatory Education Program, including content creation, delivery, assessment and student feedback.
Before joining CPA Canada, Andy was director, Corporate Services at Banff Mineral Springs Hospital, where he managed all administrative and financial aspects of the business. He also spent eight years at Deloitte working on accounting and auditing engagements for multinational clients before becoming a partner and owner of Thomas & Fleck. There, he ran the professional public chartered accountancy firm until the partnership was sold in 2003.

Ben joined the CPA Canada Board of Directors in September 2023.
He was employed by the Grande Prairie, Alberta office of Campbell Sharp, a national chartered accounting firm, as a chartered accountant articling student until he joined the firm in 1981 and was admitted to partnership in 1987. He has the distinction of having served 40 years as a senior partner in a medium-sized regional public practice, with eight partners and three offices in Northern British Columbia and Alberta.
Ben served for eight years on what is now CPA Insurance Plans West, helping to establish governance procedures and a formal investment policy.
Throughout his career, Ben served on a variety of boards in the community, including the BC Seniors Games, the BC Winter Games, Northern BC Winter Games, and the Northern Health Authority. In 2016, he served five years on the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia's Board of Directors, and then an additional six years on the Board of Chartered Professional Accountants British Columbia (CPABC).
In September 2019, Ben was elected as Board Chair of CPABC. During his tenure, he also served on the Council of Chairs, participated in numerous committees, and was a member of the Western Regional Forum.
In 2022, he received the distinction of the Queen's 70th Platinum Jubilee Medal in Community Service. Ben retired in January 2023, but continues to devote his time to his community service endeavors.

Beth is the chair of the CPA Canada Board of Directors, joining the board in September 2021.
Beth was previously the chief executive officer at Dentons Canada and a member of the global leadership team, serving on the global board and global management committee.
Prior to that, Beth served as managing partner at KPMG in the Greater Toronto area, where she led the largest business unit in Canada. Beth served as a member of KPMG's Management Committee in various leadership positions, including Canadian managing partner, Community Leadership, and Canadian managing partner, Regions and Enterprise, with responsibility for 24 regional offices across Canada, and chief human resources officer. She has also held various global leadership roles.
Beth currently serves as a board director for the following organizations: Thomson Reuters, Power Corporation, IGM Financial, Traferox Technologies Inc., Hospital for SickKids and Woodgreen Foundation.
Beth is widely known and respected in the Canadian business community and is an accomplished and dedicated community leader. She exemplifies this through her board and community involvement, and her advancement of women in business, and has been recognized by leading organizations such as YWCA Toronto, Canadian Women of Influence and WXN.

As vice-president, Legal, Risk and Compliance, Brenda acts as a strategic advisor for CPA Canada, delivering expert business-oriented legal advice and counsel. She also oversees the strategic direction, development, and execution of legal, risk management and compliance across the organization.
Prior to joining CPA Canada, Brenda practised law at Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD) from 2013-2021. During her tenure with TD, she held several roles, with responsibilities including the negotiation of high-risk global contracts, leading various process improvement, knowledge management and risk mitigation initiatives, as well as providing legal and risk management advice and support to the general counsel and senior vice-president, Legal (Canada). Most recently, Brenda acted as the practice lead for Global External Counsel Management and Risk, Legal
Brenda previously practiced at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario where she served as lead counsel in a variety of proceedings before the College Discipline Committee as well as in Divisional and Superior Court. During this time, she also negotiated contracts, drafted bylaws, policies, and procedures, and provided legal support to the College's committees and council. Brenda began her legal career at Torys LLP, where she practiced as a civil litigator until 2004.
Over the course of her years in practice, Brenda has been an active volunteer in the legal community. She has acted as a student mentor through the First Generation Network and the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law. She also been a volunteer judge for the Wilson Moot and a Legal Ethics Bridge Week facilitator at the faculty. In addition, Brenda has co-led a United Way fundraising and awareness campaign and volunteered for the Pro Bono Ontario hotline.

Cathy joined the CPA Canada Board of Directors in September 2020.
She is a partner of PwC Canada, based in the Toronto office with over 30 years of experience with the firm. Cathy is currently the National SDC Operations Leader for PwC Canada, overseeing the use of service delivery centres both globally and in Canada. In addition, she is a board member of PwC's multi-territory delivery centre located in Kolkata, India.
As an Assurance practice partner, Cathy has extensive experience serving both public and private companies in a wide range of industries. Over her career at PwC, she also has had the opportunity to serve as the PwC Canada Assurance Strategy and Operations Leader, the National Human Capital Leader for the Assurance line of service, the National Public Sector Assurance Leader, and as a member of the Canadian Assurance Leadership Team.

Darrell is the vice-chair of the CPA Canada Board of Directors, joining the board in September 2021. He is a certified director specializing in linking strategy to organizational objectives that help enable increased client satisfaction, growth, and profitability.
Darrell is a retired senior executive that now serves as a corporate director after working forty-one years in the critical infrastructure (utilities and financial services) and advisory services industries. Darrell's most current role was that of Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Canadian Western Bank. Prior to that, he served in public practice as a Partner in KPMG's Advisory Services practice working with clients to advance and mature their technology and cyber security capabilities.
For the last twenty-three years, Darrell has worked with public, private and not-for-profit boards and industry associations, earning his Certified Director (ICD.D) designation along the way. Having just come off the Edmonton Airports Board, Darrell currently serves as a Director on the Boards of CPA Canada and Agilus Work Solutions. Darrell also previously served on the Board of Alberta Pensions and as chair of the CPA Alberta and CMA Alberta Boards.

As Chief Financial Officer, Paul is responsible for strategy development, corporate planning, project management, financial planning, operational support (facilities, travel), implementation of CPA Canada's ESG strategy, enterprise and third-party risk management, business continuity management, and all compliance matters.
Paul is the Chair of the Pension Investment Management Committee (PIMC) and primary staff liaison to the Finance, Audit and Risk (FAR) Committee of CPA Canada. He has a mandate to drive transformative change and strengthen CPA Canada's financial position and performance, in conjunction with the senior leadership of CPA Canada.
Throughout his career in the non-profit, charity and association sectors, high technology start-ups and telecommunications, Paul has managed transformative change, achieving financial and business results while effectively interacting with staff, boards and members.
Today, Paul sits on the Boards of the Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health and the Canadian Lung Association.

Jean-François is responsible for leading the team supporting the three independent standard-setting boards. Passionate about professional standards, he recognizes their importance in maintaining trust in the capital markets and in public and private sector reporting. He was a member of the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (AASB) from 2016 to 2021, and vice-chair from 2019 to 2021.
He brings 20 years of experience in auditing and accounting. Prior to joining CPA Canada, he was a partner at Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton LLP, where he played leadership roles, including as national director of Professional Standards and as a member of Grant Thornton International (GTIL) Methodology and Learning Steering Committee.
Jean-François was awarded the CPA Award of Excellence - Research in 2015 by the Ordre des comptables professionnels agrées du Québec. He was president of the Montreal CPA group from 2012 to 2016.

Joan joined the CPA Canada Board of Directors in September 2018.
She has more than 25 years' experience in board and stakeholder relations and has been a practising lawyer and strategic consultant with an expertise in governance. Joan is the vice-president, External Affairs and Corporate Counsel at NorQuest College.
She has extensive board involvement and currently serves as chair of the Growth and Innovation Committee, and member of the Governance Committee at Covenant Health (2016-present) and as a member of the Governance Committee at the Edmonton International Airport (2016-present). Joan was appointed as the board chair of ATB Financial, effective January 1, 2019, and previously served as chair of the organization's Governance and Conduct Review Committee (2008-2018).
She has given numerous presentations on governance and is an active instructor at the Institute of Corporate Directors, Rotman School of Management/University of Alberta School of Business, in the Directors Education Program.
In 2008, Joan was awarded with the honorary Queen's Counsel designation for her outstanding contributions to the legal profession and her community.

As Vice-President of Taxation, John leads CPA Canada's Tax group, which influences the development of an equitable, effective and efficient tax system in Canada, as well as delivers practical information and fresh perspectives on tax to members and the broader tax community.
A strong proponent of tax education, John also aims to increase CPA Canada's reputation as the preeminent provider of core tax education in Canada.
John serves as a spokesperson for CPA Canada, both domestically and internationally, and acts in the public interest, providing tax-related information and perspective. He leads committees and working groups, consulting with the federal government regarding the development and administration of federal tax policies, while also providing thought leadership and education to CPA members.
Previously, John was Baker Tilly Canada's National Tax director, driving key tax advisory initiatives to support practitioners across its network. An accomplished leader and trusted advisor, John also provided tax training to other professionals through various organizations, including the Canadian Tax Foundation, CPA Nova Scotia and CPA Canada.
John has written and presented numerous articles and papers over his career and has presented at many national conferences, including several Atlantic Tax Conferences. During the pandemic, John wrote many tax‑related articles pertaining to government relief measures and legislation.

Karen joined the CPA Canada Board of Directors in September 2020.
She is the Vice-President Finance for Fortis Inc. (TSX/NYSE: FTS), a well-diversified leader in the North American regulated electric and gas utility industry, serving utility customers in five Canadian provinces, nine U.S. states and three Caribbean countries. Since joining Fortis in 2004, Karen has held a range of positions including Vice-President Finance and Chief Financial Officer of its former subsidiary, Fortis Properties Corporation. Karen has also held positions with CHC Helicopter Corporation and Grant Thornton LLP.
Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors of Gymnastics Newfoundland and Labrador. She is past President of Cygnus Gymnastics Training Centre, and previously served on the Board of Cabot Habitat for Humanity of Newfoundland and Labrador. Karen was also a volunteer sub-committee member for the 1996 Newfoundland and Labrador Summer Games.

Kevin joined the CPA Canada Board of Directors in September 2019.
He is currently the chair of the Independent Acquisitions and Compliance Committee at KAI Asset Management Inc. and with the Winnipeg 2017 Canada Summer Games Legacy Committee.
Kevin retired in 2017 from a 31-year career with Investors Group and its parent company, IGM Financial Inc. He held various executive level positions within the firm, concluding his career as executive vice-president, Finance, and chief financial officer. Prior to joining Investors Group, he was an auditor for Clarkson Gordon.
He served on the CPA Manitoba Council (2015-2019) and the CA Manitoba Council (2009-2015).
Kevin has also served on a number of boards, including ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments, the Mutual Fund Dealers Association, along with its Investor Protection Corporation, the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and the Winnipeg 2017 Canada Summer Games Host Society.

Before joining CPA Canada, Lisa served as chief technical officer at the Value Reporting Foundation and one of its pre-merger entities, the International Integrated Reporting Council. Over the span of a decade, Lisa contributed to the development of the International Integrated Reporting Framework and subsequently oversaw its revision and preparation of accompanying implementation guidance. Within this capacity, she also supported the International Accounting Standards Board as a member of its Management Commentary Consultative Group and the International Sustainability Standards Board as a member of the International Financial Reporting Standards Foundation's Technical Readiness Working Group. Her earlier role as technical director of the Global Reporting Initiative rounds out her standard-setting and framework development background.
Previously, Lisa was principal, Research, Guidance & Support at the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. Her experience in the for-profit sector includes work as a research chemist at 3M Canada, application engineer at Metso Minerals and financial analyst at Ford Motor Company of Canada and Ford Credit Canada.
Notable career achievements include appearances before the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's Investor Advisory Group, White House Forum on Business Innovation, World Bank Fiduciary Forum and The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development's Intergovernmental Working Group of Experts on International Standards of Accounting and Reporting. In addition, Lisa has engaged in collaborative projects with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, United Nations Global Compact and Principles for Responsible Investment.

As president and CEO of CPA Canada, Pamela leads one of the largest professional accounting bodies in the world, with more than 220,000 members.
Prior to assuming this role, she was the chief financial and corporate strategy officer at Payments Canada where she oversaw the organization's finance and corporate planning functions. Previously, she was the chief financial officer and head of finance and employer services with the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board.
Over the course of her career, Pamela has worked in the technology and financial services industries (pensions, insurance), including publicly traded, private and regulated entities in Canada and abroad.
Today, Pamela sits on the boards of Michael Garron Hospital and Quarterhill Inc. (TSX: QTRH). She is an active and founding member of the advisory board for the Institute for Sustainable Finance as well as a faculty member for the Competent Boards designation. Also, she currently sits on the University of Waterloo's School of Accounting and Finance advisory council. She is a past Chair of the CFA Society Toronto and was a founding member of the Canadian Chapter of the Accounting for Sustainability CFO Leadership Network

As Vice-President of Research, Guidance and Support, Rosemary leads CPA Canada's research and thought leadership strategy, ensuring the Canadian CPA profession is well-equipped to respond to challenges and to meet evolving business and societal needs.
Rosemary oversees a team of professionals who explore emerging issues, champion innovation, and produce insights that guide future directions for the profession. She engages with Canadian and international stakeholders, such as policymakers, standards setters, regulators, and global accountancy bodies, on issues impacting the public interest. Key areas of focus include the path to net-zero emissions; environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues; and data and technology.
Previously, Rosemary held the role of director, Research, Guidance and Support. During this time, she managed research and thought leadership initiatives related to external reporting and capital markets. Rosemary has significant expertise in sustainability reporting and sustainable finance issues and has delivered presentations to the International Sustainability Standards Board, Canadian Accounting Standards Board, Canadian Securities Administrators, and the federal government's Expert Panel on Sustainable Finance and Sustainable Finance Action Council.
Throughout her career, she has also garnered extensive public accounting experience. She spent seven years in PwC's National Accounting Consulting Services group advising clients on regulatory matters and complex accounting and financial reporting matters under International Financial Reporting Standards and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Stephenie started with Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) on April 1, 2015, and is responsible for the independent standard-setting board staff support who work to develop financial reporting and assurance standards for Canada. Canada has long been known both for the quality of its auditing and accounting standards and for the independent, objective and transparent structures responsible for developing the standards and guidance used in this country. Stephenie has over 20 years of experience in independent standard setting and establishing and sustaining relationships with national and international standard-setting bodies.
Prior to joining CPA Canada, she was technical director at the International Public Sector Accounting Standards Board - an independent standard-setting board of the International Federation of Accountants. Stephenie was previously a senior reviewer at the Canadian Public Accountability Board and also spent 12 years as a principal working with the Canadian Institute of Charted Accountants. She started her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
On the global scene, Stephenie ensures that CPA Canada's influential voice is heard and aids in protecting the interests of Canadian enterprises that comply with accounting and auditing standards set outside our borders.

Susan joined the CPA Canada Board of Directors in September 2022.
In 2017, she launched her own company providing management consulting, thought leadership, strategy and business plan development to enterprise and mid-market companies in Atlantic Canada.
Prior to that, Susan served over 35 years with Bell Aliant/Bell Canada in Atlantic Canada as a marketing, sales and strategy executive with a focus on business plan development and assessments, financial controls, planning and new product introductions. In her last position with Bell, she was responsible for overseeing governance of capital and expense management, and Private Network Product Management, nationally.
She has over 30 years' experience as a board member on community, business, regulatory, economic development, and philanthropic organizations. Susan currently sits as board member, vice-chair, and committee head on many boards, including the Saint John Airport, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, New Brunswick Health Council, Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation, New Brunswick College of Pharmacists.

Tracy joined the CPA Canada Board of Directors in September 2022.
She has served as partner within KPMG's Large Audit practice in Montreal since 2019. Tracy has over 20 years of experience in auditing public and private companies throughout Canada and abroad in multiple industries such as transportation, retail, aerospace, manufacturing and technology. She has experience auditing the financial statements of complex public clients that report in U.S. GAAP and IFRS in Canada and cross-border in the U.S.
Tracy's experience includes six years of inspection and thought leadership experience with the Canadian Public Accountability Board (CPAB). During her time at CPAB, she had an active role in regulatory oversight, international standard setting activities and regular outreach to stakeholders on the importance of audit quality.
Tracy is involved in the community serving as the Treasurer of the Montreal Chest Institute Foundation of the McGill University Health Centre. She has also served as a member of the professional inspection committee of the Order of Certified Professional Accountants of Quebec and is a volunteer facilitator at the Collège des Administrateurs de Sociétés.
