Ashleigh Miller

Ashleigh Miller joined the Lowe Audiology practice in the summer of 2019. This past spring 2019 she earned her bachelor's degree in communication sciences and disorders from Purdue University Fort Wayne. Ashleigh is looking forward to learning and gaining new experiences in the field of audiology.

Dr. Ciara Horgan

Dr. Ciara Horgan received her Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D.) from Ball State University. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech-Language- Hearing Association. Her interests in audiology include comprehensive diagnostic hearing assessments, tinnitus counseling, and hearing aid selection, fitting and follow-up. During her graduate work she gained experience working with both children and adults at the Ball State University Audiology Clinic and out in the field in private practices, the VA, and Ear, Nose, and Throat clinics. Ciara grew up in Fort Wayne and is excited to be back in her hometown and serving the community with their hearing needs.

Dr. Gregory Lowe

After more than 30 years of practice in the Fort Wayne area, Dr. Gregory Lowe retired in the Fall of 2014. Dr. Lowe was the only audiologist in the area that had two doctorates in audiology. He earned his Ph.D. in Audiology from Purdue University, and his clinical doctorate (Au.D.) in Audiology from Arizona School of Health Sciences. He is also board certified in Audiology by the American Academy of Audiology. He is known and respected for his compassion, dedication, kindness, and his service to the community.

Tammy Downing Gurney

Job Titles:
  • Audiology Assistant
Tammy Gurney has worked in the hearing healthcare field for over 20 years. She is a graduate of Paul Harding High School in Fort Wayne, IN. Her expertise is in medical billing, administration, and patient care coordination. She also has experience in troubleshooting hearing instruments and diagnosing hearing instrument problems. Tammy worked for Dr. Greg Lowe for over 12 years before he retired.

Thomas Z. Burkle

Dr. Burkle studied Music Engineering and Physics at Ball State University. He started his post college career within the music industry by providing consultation in recording studios in design and acoustics. After discovering Audiology, and his passion for hearing instrument technology, he attended graduate school at Indiana University. After completing his studies, he spent five years providing diagnostic Audiology, and hearing instrument services, within an ear, nose, and throat medical practice in Somerset, Kentucky before becoming a regional training Audiologist for Siemens Hearing Instruments. While at Siemens, Dr. Burkle was recognized in the Siemens ‘Circle of Excellence' three years in a row. Although he enjoyed becoming an expert in hearing instrument technology on the device side of the industry, he was eager to return to patient care. He is committed to helping the hearing impaired improve their communication ability, as well as their quality of life. Thomas Z. Burkle holds a Doctorate in Audiology from Indiana University, as well as a Bachelor of Music from Ball State University.

Vanessa Schroeder

Vanessa Schroeder started working at Lowe Audiology in the summer of 2016. She has worked in the healthcare field for most over her career. Vanessa is involved in Bible education work that focuses on teaching individuals who are hearing impaired. She received specialized training through Theocratic Ministry School to help effectively communicate using American Sign Language (ASL). She is passionate about taking care of people, and making sure they feel welcome and comfortable.
