Akruti Patel BSc Head of Haematology Akruti has a BSc in Microbiology with a postgraduate diploma as a medical laboratory technician from Gujarat, India.
Alison joined Lab Services in 2014 and is our Senior Administrator. Alison has many years of experience working in demanding administrative and customer service roles.

I have over 4 years of experience in the field of microbiology and molecular biology where I have worked in food, pharmaceutical and clinical diagnostic industries, and currently working in veterinary diagnostics at Lab services limited. My main areas of interest are diagnostic research principally involving the gut microbiome and molecular markers for infectious disease investigation.

Babita has an undergraduate degree in Biomedicine and an MSc in Molecular Medicine and Cancer Research. Babita has over 10 years' experience working as a Medical Laboratory Assistant in a range of NHS Hospital Trusts. She joined Lab Services in 2022.

I have a bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science from the department of biomedical sciences, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Oyo state, Nigeria where I graduated with second class upper division with honors. I have a certificate training in basic and clinical toxicology at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria. Also, I have a master's degree in biomedical sciences (PhD grade) from the University of Applied Sciences Bonn-Rhein-Sieg, Germany. I am a licensed biomedical scientist in Nigeria with the medical laboratory science council of Nigeria (MLSCN) and the health and care professional council (HCPC) in the United Kingdom. I have a ten year post graduate working experience as a biomedical scientist in Nigeria, Germany and the United kingdom.
In Nigeria, I worked as a biomedical scientist (clinical biochemistry) at the University College Hospital Ibadan, Federal Medical Center Owo and the head of diagnostic services at Fitrah diagnostics, Kano. While in Germany, I worked at the genetic engineering and stem cell culture unit as a research assistant at the department of natural sciences, University of Applied Sciences Bonn-Rhein-Sieg in the field of regenerative medicine (stem cell) and molecular biology. Furthermore, I worked with Centogene Biotech company located in cologne as a medical technologist and a senior public health consultant with Europe-Africa solutions in Bonn, before I relocated to the United Kingdom where I worked as a senior biomedical scientist across several NHS laboratories namely in Winchester, Bedford and Portsmouth mostly in the field of haematology.

Charlotte has qualifications in Animal Care and trained for 4 years as a veterinary nurse. She joined Lab Services in December 2018.
Chris has over 25 years of experience in laboratories across a wide range of industry sectors including Veterinary, Environmental and Forensics. From working at the bench to leading complex multi-site laboratory businesses Chris enjoys working with enthusiastic and passionate teams to continually improve services for customers. He holds a BSc in Analytical Chemistry and an MBA from Leeds University Business School. Having previously spent several years in the veterinary industry, he joined Lab Services in 2023.

Donald has multi-disciplinary experience over many years working in human healthcare, most extensively in Haematology. In his most recent role, he worked as Senior Biomedical Scientist in a busy clinical diagnostic laboratory in Nigeria. He joined our Haematology Team in 2022.

Kamran has worked in research, diagnostic and higher education institutes, and has a wealth of experience in many fields, particularly molecular biology and immunology. Kamran joined Lab Services in 2021 to accelerate the development of the molecular diagnostic service.

Hasmita graduated in Computer Sciences. She has since pursued a career in the healthcare sector, working to GMP standards, progressing to Team Leader. Hasmita joined Lab Services in 2021 to support the Quality Manager.
Helen worked as a laboratory analyst and head of department in an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory for 7 years and graduated with a BSc from the Open University in 2017 before joining Lab Services in 2019 as Technical Manager. Responsible for facilities and equipment maintenance, and project management. Helen is also Deputy Quality Manager and Training Officer.
Jessica has a BSc in Medical Microbiology and Virology from Warwick, and an MSc in Medical Parasitology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Jessica joined Lab Services in 2015.
Jiyamol Roy Veterinary Laboratory Assistant Jiyamol has joined Lab Services Ltd. in 2022 as VLA. She has a BSc in Microbiology with Nanotechnology(2019) from Bharathiar University(Nehru Arts and Science College, Coimbatore,India) and completed MSc Biomedical Sciences (2022) from Kingston University London, UK. She worked as a laboratory technician in a reputed hospital in Kerala,India.
Laura joined Lab Services in 2022 as Laboratory Manager, Laura has a varied background combined of Veterinary Nursing, Human Resources, and Standards Compliance within the Veterinary sector.
Prior to Lab Services Liam worked across diagnostic, sampling and testing Laboratories for over 5 years at The Animal and Plant Health Agency. There he planned, co-ordinated and undertook the delivery of a range of Pathology requirements - including surveillance portfolio work, U.K. Government strategic research and commercial contracts. Adjacent to this, his responsibilities included ensuring adherence to the relative legislative and regulatory quality, and health and safety frameworks and requirements for a high security bio-containment facility. As part of U.K Government emergency measures, Liam has been selected for several emergency outbreak teams - including secondment for public and NHS SARS-CoV-2 testing and the ongoing Avian Influenza response. Liam holds a first class BSc in Forensic Science.

She has joined the Haematology team at Lab Services in 2022.

She has more than 7 years of experience in Research and Teaching labs of Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Cell culture, Immunology and Biochemistry.

I have started my journey in veterinary medicine by qualifying as a veterinary nurse in Romania, and subsequently after I have enrolled myself at university to become a veterinary surgeon. I have relocated my studies to the University of Bologna, in Italy, where I have graduated with honours in 2010. In 2011 after working for a year in the laboratory of a private veterinary hospital in Italy, I have returned to the University to undertake a PhD. I have defended and was awarded with the title in 2014. In 2015 I have started the Residency in veterinary clinical pathology at a commercial lab in the U.K., and in 2021 I became a Diplomate in Clinical Pathology with the American College of Veterinary Pathology. Through my training and subsequently, I had the opportunity to work in different labs, in commercial and academic settings in Italy, USA, and UK. My interest are cytology, haematology, oncology, and infectious diseases.

She worked with a Candian ENGO CEDA which held a project for rural women entrepreneurship working in dairy and livestock sector of Pakistan. She then joined as veterinary officer/practitioner in public sector in Pakistan soon after graduation.
