Patients have fast access to us in the FCP role and we see a wide range of conditions. Faster access means that we can give timely advice on management and in the longer term this is a huge benefit to the patient. I have moved to the TIMS service directly from another FCP role in the North East having previously worked in a community Physiotherapy outpatient team in Middlesbrough

This role allows patients fast and direct access to a physio for the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. By offering faster access, patients can be better managed with appropriate advice, education and treatment, resulting in better health outcomes. Throughout my career I have worked across multiple different areas of physiotherapy and have specialised in treating complex and persistent musculoskeletal conditions for over a decade. Alongside this role, I work as an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner within the Spinal Pain pathway in the Tyneside Integrated Musculoskeletal Service (TIMS).

I will be receiving referrals from the GPs and other members of the PCN to help develop personalised community-based health outcomes for older people 50+ in Newcastle outer west. I will work with individuals to promote independence and increase the persons sense of emotional wellbeing. Helping them stay active for longer. Each plan will be tailored to their needs. For instance, it could be linking them into services and activities in the community that meet their individual needs. This will in time help build confidence, sustain links and friendship between other local people in the community.
