SPRING BRANCH TRACK CLUB - Key Persons
Shane Meling has been an assistant track coach at Smithson Valley High School for the past five years specializing in horizontal jumps and assisting with running events.
During his time at SV, he has helped both the boys and girls teams win a district title. Four of his SV jumpers have gone on to compete at the NCAA Division I or II levels.
Prior to joining the Smithson Valley staff, Meling worked in collegiate athletics for 15 years. He attended Grove City College in Pennsylvania where he was a middle distance runner and jumper where he helped the team win three straight conference titles. While he was pursuing a Master's degree at Slippery Rock University he was also able to coach track for at his alma mater Slippery Rock High School.
