The Empowered Kitchen is a 501(c)(3) that was founded in 2018 by Chef Chriss Brown and six of Jacksonville, Florida's most influential female entrepreneurs. As their businesses have expanded, they wanted to give back to the community by empowering other women to find independence through a career in the food industry... The Empowered Kitchen is a nonprofit business incubator in Jacksonville, Florida. We help empower women to independence through careers in the culinary industry by providing training and mentorship... Only a fifth of chefs and head cooks in the U.S. are women, according to the 2017 Bureau of Labor Statistics. We aim to change that.
