Eamonn O'Connor

Eamonn is experienced at growing and managing businesses across a range of disciplines. He spent over 30 years in the financial services sector, where his experience included building businesses from scratch and being a board level Director for a number of firms in the sector. Eamonn now uses his experience to build and acquire businesses of his own and to offer consultancy support to others doing the same. His primary focus now is in the two sectors which interest him the most: the bloodstock and horse-racing industry and, of course, nurseries. Within the nurseries and Early Years sector, Eamonn has developed the Toddletown group of nurseries and now has four settings. If you are interested in owning your own nursery, Eamonn will use his experience in financial services, leadership, sales, business start-ups, SEIS/EIS and business sales and acquisitions to help you through the initial stages of finding premises, negotiating a lease, creating a viable business plan, financial modelling and budgeting. Eamonn's support will be invaluable in getting you off to the strongest possible start in your new venture and will be available to you on an ongoing basis as part of your Toddleworld franchise.

John Warren

John boasts a Masters in Early Childhood Education and in both 2019 and 2016 was voted as one of the Top Ten most influential people in childcare by Nursery Management Today. John brings his expertise from 30 years in the sector to the quality of teaching and care at our portfolio of nurseries. John has worked for large groups of nurseries, at Director level and has experience in every aspect of the early years from being a Nursery Practitioner himself, to running teams of 200, acquiring nurseries and transformation projects. In addition to his nursery roles, John has been an Ofsted Inspector and our group of nursery owners will continue to benefit from his knowledge and understanding in this crucial area. John is a regular contributor to the early years sector such as articles for online sector websites such as www.daynurseries.co.uk, sitting on the judging panels for Nursery World and Nursery Management Today Magazines. Regularly speaking at Hawk Training Events on sector challenges offering advice and insights. John also speaks at National events such as the Childcare Expo Conferences in Coventry and London. He is also often asked to speak at Local authority events on a variety of subjects When you're starting your own nursery, you may have an idea of the curriculum that you'd like in place or may want to follow the latest research. Wherever you are on this spectrum, John will work with you to create a curriculum and build the nursery resources from tables and storage, to books and soft furnishings. The end result will be a nursery that is high quality, attractive to families and excellent for children to learn and flourish in. You can also ask John to come to your own nursery and read his debut children's book, Down in the Den and do some exciting den building activities with the children.

Sophie Haylock

Sophie is an experienced, Chartered CIPD qualified HR professional with extensive experience in the early years sector. Prior to moving into the early years, Sophie's HR experience was in financial services, the police, pharmaceuticals, and retail. Sophie has provided HR for nurseries and preschools across the country, including standalone pre-schools and groups of up to 40 settings. While at a leading nursery group in the South East, Sophie established the HR function and so knows what it's like for nursery owners who are starting from scratch with HR and also how to work strategically to improve business performance, while maintaining early years compliance standards. Sophie has supported with Ofsted inspections and led on safeguarding cases with local authorities and other agencies.

Urvashi O'Connor

A highly qualified Early Years practitioner (Early Years, BA), Urvashi focuses on ensuring our nurseries maintain the highest standards. Prior to acquiring Toddletown in Godalming, located at The Old Gospel Hall, Urvashi and Eamonn built a nursery business from scratch in Chiswick, West London. The quality of this setting was recently recognised by an Outstanding rating from Ofsted. According to Ofsted, Urvashi is a well-qualified and experienced manager who constantly evaluates practice and seeks views of others to identify areas to further enhance the setting. Led by Urvashi, the staff work extremely closely with parents and other professionals to ensure that all children achieve the best possible outcome. When you start your own nursery, Urvashi will guide you through the Ofsted registration process and work with you to get all your policies and procedures in place.
