What is important to me as a coach is to be player-centric. My aim is to enable each player to understand their role in the team and maximise their performance. To do this, I try to help players to acquire a range of physical skills and an appreciation of how and when to use them. Mental skills of decision-making, resilience, tactical awareness and team work are also emphasised in my approach. What I look for in a player is as much about their mental attitude as their physical aptitude and this is what I have tried to develop over many years. It's an ongoing process with every new generation of Wey Valley players helping me to learn more about how to help them.
