Updated 34 days ago
Our goal at the Carle Illinois Advanced Imaging Center is to develop and apply advanced imaging methods in order to advance biomedical knowledge and improve human health. Since Wilhelm Roentgen produced the first X-ray images of the human hand in 1895, biomedical imaging has come to occupy an increasingly prominent role in the investigation of anatomy, biochemistry, physiology, and pathology... Advances in the basic science and technology of biomedical imaging have made these methods central components of research efforts across a broad range of biomedical disciplines and in many aspects of patient care. At the Carle Illinois Advanced Imaging Center, we strive to be at the forefront of these advances and their applications to clinical medicine. To do so, we foster collaborations among the clinicians, scientists, and engineers at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Carle Health. Together, we perform research that advances both the technology and applications of biomedical..
