Starting in 1995 from humble beginnings, Tony drew insight from his Deaf parents Jack & Peggy Swindale who immersed him in everything Deaf. At a young age Tony was fascinated with technology and how it could assist the lives of Deaf, Deafblind and hard of hearing people. In 1987 he started working for the NZ Association of the Deaf as their Welfare Officer based in Christchurch. First In 1995 he setup as a freelance interpreter and continues to this day, he is a NAATI Recognised Sign Language Interpreter. In 2000 Deaf-Quip was established as one of the few assistive device suppliers and now they have many customers who keep coming back for great quality products and services. Now days both Arnya and Tony work in the family business servicing customers and bringing fresh products to the market...
