Dr. Ajit has obtained his Doctorate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Spl. Production Engineering) from IIT Delhi. As a mechanical engineer, he completed his B.E. from VTU Belgaum and M.Tech in the core specialisation of Manufacturing Engineering from IIT(ISM) Dhanbad before starting his doctoral studies. As part of his M.Tech, he was selected to carry out his project work in the area of Metal Additive Manufacturing at RRCAT Indore (a unit of the Department of Atomic Energy) for one year (2015-2016).
Major part of his research focuses on physical metallurgy, metal additive manufacturing (LENS, WAAM and LPBF), and advanced manufacturing techniques (ultrasonic assisted sintering and customized pressure assisted conventional sintering, etc.) to improve metallic material properties according to the application.
During his doctoral studies, he has also worked as a teaching assistant in various courses and shown his potential in academic-related work (like teaching, conducting lab, etc.). Dr. Kumar has been granted two patents for his PhD work and has also published his work in peer-reviewed journals of high repute, including Mechanical Sciences, Journal of Magnesium and Alloys, Journal of Alloys and Compounds, Journal of Manufacturing Processes, etc.
After completion of his PhD in June 2021, he was offered to work on the Indo-Russian DST project as a Postdoctoral Fellow at IIT Indore. During his stay of eight months at IIT Indore, he has developed a new method of fabricating Belleville springs using Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM). The Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of the novel approach was scaled to level 6 by IIT Indore. The manuscript related to the research work has been published in Materials Today Communications. Moreover, he has published two SCI articles as co-authors during my tenure at IIT Indore.
In March 2022, he received the prestigious award of ICMR-RA fellowship to carry out his second post-doctoral work at IISc Bangalore as PI on the ICMR project entitled "Development of biodegradable orthopedic fixation device for clinical applications. From the proposed work, he has filed one patent and completed three research articles. In total, Dr. Kumar has published seven SCI articles (Q1=5, Q2=2) as a main author and two as a co-author (Q2=2) with the accumulative impact factor of 55. Additionally, he has published four book chapters on Additive Manufacturing's role in biomedical and customer-specific applications.
Dr. Kumar has successfully completed the ICMR funded project in July 2024 and then joined NAM:TECH as an Assistant Professor in the group of smart manufacturing. The activities he enjoys in his spare time include cooking, playing cricket, swimming and visiting new places with family.

With over 28 years of experience, Arunkumar Pillai is an accomplished strategy practitioner in the field of education and skilling. As Director General at NAMTECH, a higher education and skills initiative of Arcelor Mittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India), Arun has been instrumental in the ideation and establishment of this innovative post-graduate institute.
In the past, he has held key roles such as Chief Strategy Officer at the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Partner at Ernst & Young and Chief Operating Officer (COO) at IL&FS Skills Development Corporation.
At NSDC, he has played a pivotal role in the launch of innovative initiatives like the Skill Impact Bond and the Open Digital Ecosystem for Skills. He has also led several impact-driven large-scale skilling projects, across India, as part of government and multilateral agencies, as well as Big Four consulting firms.
He has in the past successfully served as the Director for Tripura Medical College, a Public Private Partnership (PPP) initiative for medical education in India.
His consulting expertise also extends to industries including Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Auto, Communications and Information Technology.
Dr. Ashish Shukla is a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and pursued his M.Tech in Production and Industrial Engineering from Delhi Technological University Delhi. He also has a Ph.D in Metallurgy Engineering and Materials Science from IIT- Indore. His interest areas are Robotic Integration in Hybrid LASER and Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing Machine Development.

After a long tenure as Dean at DA-IICT, he brings to NAMTECH academic administration to create meaningful change and drive impact in the education sector. During her M.Tech research she delved into the realm of the integration of nanomaterial-embedded phase change materials of energy storage devices, conducting comprehensive analysis and modelling.
Throughout her Ph.D. she has made significant strides in interdisciplinary research, particularly in the intersection of mechanical engineering and biosensing technology. Her groundbreaking work involves the development of biosensors for disease detection using paper strip technology.
Her expertise also extends to electrochemical sensors and their integration with artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms for healthcare applications. Her interdisciplinary approach and collaboration with experts in various fields have enabled her to tackle complex challenges in healthcare technology and beyond.
She spends her leisure time immersed in reading books, tracking, listening to music, and attending philosophical seminars.
Dr. Rajagopalan completed his B. Tech (Honors) in Aeronautical Engineering from Uttar Pradesh Technical University. He holds a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Indore in Metallurgy Engineering & Materials Science. Rajagopalan specializes in IoT-based devices and sensors, energy harvesting, electro-adhesive robotics, and microbubble technology. Before this, he had close to 5 years of international experience working in various roles in top universities like National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan; Zhejiang University, China & Jeju National University, South Korea.

Dr. Shuchi completed her PhD from the Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai, India. Her PhD thesis was on "Design and Development of TiO2 tubular structures for photoelectrochemical water splitting and rare earth-based oxide materials for methanol Electrooxidation." She is an electrochemist, with experience in material synthesis for energy storage and conversion devices. She has developed new catalysts for Direct Methanol fuels and Photoelectrochemical water-splitting cells. She has attended a few conferences and won best paper awards. She was also awarded with the International Immersion Travel award and visited Arizona state university,USA for six months where she worked on "Photoelectrochemical water splitting". She was one of the select few women to receive the "Women Leading IITM 2024" award.
She has published four papers as first author and seven co-authors in peer-reviewed journals. Each publication showcases the wide range of knowledge she acquired throughout her PhD. She has also collaborated with researchers worldwide, indicating her integration into the broader research network and her impact on collaborative efforts.
Before starting her PhD program, Dr. Shuchi worked for 6.4 years as an Assistant Professor, teaching undergraduate courses in environmental engineering. She holds postgraduate degrees in both Environmental Engineering and Chemistry. Outside of her academic and professional life, Dr. Shuchi enjoys reading, writing, and is a trained bhangra dancer.
Dr. Siddhartha pursued his doctoral research at the Indian Institute of Technology Indore (IIT Indore), where he earned a Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science. He received his Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electronics and Communication from R.G.P.V, Bhopal followed by a Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Nanotechnology from the School of Nanotechnology, UIT-RGPV, Bhopal. At IIT Indore, his work focused on synthesis of Ga2O3 nanostructures and thin films for application in thin film electronic devices, specifically memristors. His work also contributed for optimizing parameters for crack-free thin film growth using the spin coating method on different substrates. He has published various research articles and several book chapters.
After completing Ph.D., Dr. Siddhartha joined the Centre for Excellence in Nanoelectronics (CEN) at Electrical Engineering department in Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) as a Project Research Scientist. Here, he led the development of silicon carbide (SiC) device technology for fabricating 2 and 3 terminal device such as diodes and MOSFETs applicable in next-generation electric vehicles (EVs). He was involved with projects related to Ga2O3 device technology also. Dr. Siddhartha expertise extends to device fabrication and characterization tools, including thin film deposition tools (ALD, CVD), metal deposition techniques (Sputter, E beam Evaporator), photolithography, dry and wet etching.

Soumya is an accomplished academic and researcher specializing in smart manufacturing. She began her academic journey with a B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from the Government College of Engineering in Kalahandi, Odisha. Pursuing her passion for advanced manufacturing technologies, she completed her M. Tech in Manufacturing System Engineering at VSSUT Burla, where she developed a keen interest in innovative manufacturing processes and systems.
Continuing her pursuit of excellence, Soumya joined the prestigious Ph.D. program at IIT Kharagpur. Her doctoral research, which is on the cusp of completion, focuses on modelling and simulation of friction stir welding process and the hybrid digital twin of the FSW process, contributing valuable insights to the field of smart manufacturing. She has published research papers in peer-reviewed journals and presented papers at international conferences. Upon nearing the completion of her Ph.D., Soumya joined NAMTECH as an Assistant Professor in the Smart Manufacturing Group. Here, she leverages her extensive knowledge and research experience to educate the next generation of engineers and contribute to cutting-edge research in smart manufacturing technologies.
