Northport Flooring America was originally founded in 1947 by Arthur J. Chamberlin. Our flooring store started as the State Road Laundromat. Over the years, Arthur expanded the store into the rug cleaning business, which ended up being the mainstay of our services. After years of growth and expansion, we've outgrown a few locations. We became Northport Carpet in 1974, which was derived from our building's proximity to the intersection of Northhampton Road and Portage Trail. In 1993, we became part of the Flooring America family, naming our store Northport Flooring America and becoming a full-service flooring company.
