At THB Uruguay, we offer parametric insurance, also known as non-traditional or index-based insurance. The most common policies are currently for agricultural risks such as frost or forest fires. These events get measured by objective parameters or indexes related to the risk exposure (e.g., wind speed or millimeters of rain). The insurance takes place if it complies with the parameters established in the policy... Some of the risks we cover are Fire and Allied Risks, Operational Risks, Transmission Outages, Contractor's Equipment All Risks, Electronic Equipment, Machinery Breakdown, Business Interruption, Strikes, Riots, and Civil Commotion.
