Athena is a consultancy firm specialized in economic theory, econometrics, and numerical optimization. The firm counts four consultants and all of them hold a PhD... A reserve price represents the lowest acceptable bid; i.e. any bid below that price will be rejected by the auctioneer. We developed a methodology which computes the optimal reserve price on the basis of past bids. Our methodology was used by the Mexican telecom regulator to compute reserve prices in the IFT-8 spectrum auction.
