Brendan McEwen is a Managing Consultant at Dunsky Energy + Climate Advisors. He is an energy transition leader with more than 15 years of experience helping utility, government and private sector clients decarbonize the transportation and building sectors. He led the development of some of North America's most innovative urban climate policies. While working in local government, he proved instrumental in the development of British Columbia's groundbreaking BC Energy Step Code and led development of North America's first 100% "EV Ready" requirements; more recently, he supported the early development of the Zero Carbon Step Code. He lives in Vancouver, B.C.

Bryan brings more than three decades of leadership and consulting experience with governments, utilities, and businesses to find technical, program, and policy solutions to reduce emissions and improve the energy efficiency of the built environment. Prior to joining The Transition Accelerator, Bryan played leadership and expert advisor roles with a number of Canada's leading energy and environmental consulting firms, including ICF International, Posterity Group, and Econoler. He was Senior Manager of Operations at the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, and helped successfully launch the Green Municipal Fund. His early career was built on a foundation of technical and engineering roles including Director of Technical Services at Del Management Solutions and Energy Engineer at Siemens Building Technologies. Bryan holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ottawa, and is a Professional Engineer licensed in the province of Ontario.

Curt Hull, P.Eng. has been Project Director of Manitoba's Climate Change Connection since 2007. He works on climate solutions with NGOs, businesses, educators, and all levels of government. He has worked on clean energy and sustainability projects with diesel and winter road dependent First Nations in Northern Manitoba and has recently worked with and advised Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba on their climate change initiatives. James Burrow is Director, Sustainable Finance, BMO North American Commercial Bank. Prior to his appointment, James was part of the Capital Markets Sustainable Finance team, where he identified opportunities to grow sustainable finance products across BMO Financial Group as a whole. His work there included launching BMO's high-profile retrofits partnership with the Canada Infrastructure Bank; supporting the acquisition of Radicle Group and it's post-merger integration into BMO; scoping early-stage real-estate decarbonization opportunities with the U.S. Department of Energy; and publicly advocating for BMO's climate ambition via thought leadership spanning national media, conferences and podcasts.
James started at BMO in 2019, joining the Office of Strategic Management where he supported the bank's Executive Committee by developing an updated enterprise climate strategy, announced in March '21. James Meadowcroft holds a Canada Research Chair in Governance for Sustainable Development at Carleton University, where he is a professor in both the Department of Political Science and the School of Public Policy and Administration. James has written widely on environmental politics and policy, democratic participation and deliberative democracy, national sustainable development strategies, and socio-technical transitions. His recent work focuses on energy and the transition to a low carbon society, and includes publications on carbon capture and storage (CCS), smart grids, the development of Ontario's electricity system, the politics of socio-technical transitions, and negative carbon emissions. James has supervised PhD students working on a variety of environment and energy-related topics including North American air pollution, the politics of biofuels, decarbonization pathways, and energy futures.

Julia McNally is the Director of Climate Action at Toronto Hydro. In this role, she leads a team focused on helping Toronto Hydro's customers to decarbonize. Julia practiced administrative law for 14 years prior to joining the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) in January 2006, where she held the role of Director of Market Transformation. With the merger of the OPA and the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) in 2015, Julia became the Director of Strategic Engagement & Innovation in Corporate Relations, and then led the Internal Audit division where she provided regular assessments of controls through assurance, as well as consulting services to management and the Board of Directors. Julia's last role at the IESO was Director of Planning Projects & Sustainability, in this role she led the Pathways to Decarbonization project, looking at how to make Ontario's electricity grid zero-emissions.

Her expertise includes program design and evaluation, policy, climate strategy, and climate finance.
In previous roles, Katherine contributed to climate change adaptation applied research at Ouranos and has served as a sustainability lecturer at HEC Montréal. She also participated in the Action Canada Fellowship - a Canada-wide public policy leadership program, during which she focused on the energy transition.

Keith Burrows is the Low Carbon Buildings Director for The Atmospheric Fund (TAF), overseeing the Retrofit Accelerator and ensuring alignment with TAF's broader decarbonization work and objectives. Through the Accelerator, Keith has supported multi-residential deep retrofit initiatives covering thousands of homes, with ambitious projects in affordable and social housing, condominiums, and private apartment buildings.
Keith has worked in the low-carbon buildings sector for over a decade, and prior to joining TAF he founded a business that provided energy consulting services and operational carbon and energy ratings for homes. As part of this work he analyzed the energy performance of thousands of North American homes, worked with the U.S. Department of Energy to analyze and compare operational and modelled home performance, and helped design a system that identified low-performing homes based on public-record data.

With over a decade of industry experience, Lisa formerly led the Policy team at Introba Canada, where she led a team of 10 people dedicated to supporting owners and institutions achieve their low-carbon resilience goals in the built environment.
Lisa now works with governments, utilities, and industry organizations to create policies and strategies for a low-carbon and resilient building sector. She holds a PhD in urban sustainability from UBC and is the author of several academic publications on strategies for increasing climate change resilience and energy and emissions reductions. She also holds a Master's degree in climate change resilience and adaptation and was the winner of the Canada Green Building Council's Green Building Champion Award in 2019.

Matt Golden is an entrepreneur and policy advocate, committed to bringing energy efficiency in the built environment to scale as a demand-side resource. Matt has consulted on energy, technology, and finance for the EPA, DOE, CEC, and PG&E, as well as a range of private companies.
Matt is Founder of Recurve, which develops open-source tools to measure and settle efficiency, electrification, renewable energy, and DERs to enable demand flexibility to become a market-based procurable resource. Recurve is the developer of the open-source OpenEEMeter, now part of the Linux Foundation.
Matt leads Environmental Defense Fund's Investor Confidence Project implementing a system in the US and Europe to certify Investor Ready Energy Efficiency™ projects in order to reduce transaction costs and develop actuarial data to unlock capital markets
Previously, Matt helped create the leading tablet based energy auditing software for the home performance industry built off experience auditing and retrofitting thousands of California homes. Recurve was acquired by Tendril Networks in 2011.

Moe Kabbara is an experienced energy and industrial policy professional with nearly 15 years of work at the intersection of technology, policy, markets, and supply chains. His work focuses on driving systems-level change across electricity, fuels, buildings, and industry.
As Executive Vice President at the Transition Accelerator, Moe leads national and regional efforts to support the transformation of Canada's energy and industrial systems. He oversees work on electricity system planning, building decarbonization, the future economy, low-carbon fuels, and regional implementation-working across sectors to align planning, investment, and execution.
Previously, Moe was a Managing Consultant at Dunsky Energy + Climate, advising governments and utilities on clean energy strategies. He also served as a Senior Investment Officer at Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, where he focused on investment attraction in the battery and automotive sectors as part of Canada's emerging industrial strategy. Earlier in his career, he co-founded and served as CEO of a thermal energy storage start-up in Atlantic Canada.

She is an award winning, social driven developer and a leader of the Quebec B Corp. Movement where her companies contribute to the protection of the environment, foster social inclusion, while making market driven profit to further the economic development of Montreal. Natalie manages 1.5 million square feet, supports over 500 entrepreneurs, and is an active expert and public speaker, and mentor. Robyn Wark, MRM is Manager of Market Transformation at BC Hydro - British Columbia's primary electricity utility. Her team works with industry and government on standards, policies, and regulations to support efficient electrification of buildings and transportation. Prior to that, she was the team lead for BC Hydro's Sustainable Communities program for almost a decade, working as a leading strategist and coach on low carbon communities. Robyn is Co-Vice-Chair of the BC Energy Step Code Council, on the Leadership Council of the Building to Electrification Coalition, Treasurer of the Board of the Community Energy Association, and a Mentor for Women4Climate. She has taught at Royal Roads University and BCIT. Outside work, she coaches her 2 sons' unruly soccer teams-which is by far her most challenging job to date.

With recognized expertise in decarbonation and the deep retrofit of buildings, Stéphane has been instrumental in leading efforts to reduce carbon footprints and enhance energy efficiency within the built environment. His leadership has been pivotal in developing strategies that align with global sustainability goals.

Stephen Scott is Trane's Sustainable Systems Leader for Canada. In this role, Stephen mentors and coaches the Canadian field sales organization to drive the growth of sustainable systems offerings including electrification of heating, thermal energy storage, and next-generation refrigerants. His role also involves supporting marketing efforts, driving key metrics, and sharing best practices across the organization.
Since 1997, Stephen has held several roles during his career at Trane. He served as Equipment Solutions Manager for Central and Eastern Canada where he led teams responsible for pre- and post-sales activities. He also served as Sales Manager for the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas leading a large sales team focused on mechanical contractors and consulting engineers. Victor Hyman is the executive director of ClimateCare, Canada's largest co-operative of residential HVAC contractors. Before joining ClimateCare in August 2020, he spent nine years in various management roles with a leading national HVAC wholesale distributor and five years managing a Toronto area HVAC contractor.
Victor is involved in several industry volunteer roles. He is currently the chair of the HRAI Policies and Priorities Committee, and has previously served as a member of the CMPX Show Committee, a the HRAI Committee on Emerging Trends in HVACR, was chair of the HRAI GTA Chapter, the Industry Co-Chair of National Resource Canada's Market Transformation Roadmap Space Heating Expert Team, and has been a guest contributor to Mechanical Business Magazine and HRAI's In The Air Newsletter.
