Dr. Baird studied veterinary medicine at the University of Glasgow in Scotland and earned her BVMS degree. She has been with Merrifield Animal Hospital since February 2017, having previously worked at a busy small animal practice in Stafford County, as well as in Scotland. She is a native New Englander and proud graduate of the University of Connecticut (go Huskies!) Dr. Baird particularly enjoys all aspects of feline medicine and has a special interest in complementary therapies, including animal acupuncture. She is a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners, the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association, and the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. As a USDA-accredited veterinarian, she can also issue official health certificates for domestic and international pet travel. In her spare time, Dr. Baird volunteers with the Humane Rescue Alliance's feral cat spay/neuter program in DC.
