Allan Korn

Allan Korn, MD is an internal medicine physician and nationally known expert in managed care initiatives. As a principal with Illinois-based Carriage Way Associates, Dr. Korn has provided consulting services in patient safety and healthcare affordability. For nearly 16 years, he was the senior vice president and chief medical officer for Blue Cross Blue Shield Association of Illinois, where he managed processes for improving the relationships between physicians and insurance providers. Previously, he was senior vice president of Premier Health Alliance, principal with the William Mercer Co. and vice president of Healthcare Compare Corp. Dr. Korn practiced as an internist in medical oncology at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville, Indiana, and served as chairman of the Department of Medicine. Allen "Nix" Niksich

Allen "Nix" Niksich currently serves as the school liaison officer for Mountain Home Air Force Base (AFB). He is the former Command Chief Master Sergeant of the 366th Fighter Wing at the Mountain Home Air Force Base. He served 30 years in the United States Air Force and 11 years in Air Force Civil Service. Chief Niksich completed five deployments and an active duty career as the senior enlisted member of 4,000 enlisted Airmen. As a civilian, he worked as a wing casualty officer where he took care of military families during deployments and instructed transition classes for military members separating or retiring from military service. Most recently, he served as the school liaison, representing the wing commander, taking care of military children as they transition in and out of Mountain Home AFB. Chief Niksich is a native of Salt Lake City, Utah. Bill Whitacre, former president and chief executive officer of the J.R. Simplot Co., is a member of St. Luke's Health System Board of Directors. Bill joined Simplot in March 2000 as president of the Turf & Horticulture Group, and then became president of the AgriBusiness Group in 2002. He was appointed president and CEO of the company in 2009. He retired from Simplot in 2018. Previously, he was president and CEO of Research Seeds, a Land O'Lakes subsidiary. Bill has served as a board member of The Fertilizer Institute, International Plant Nutrition Institute, Nutrients for Life Foundation, Farm Foundation and Heartland Regional Medical Center. Brad Q. Starley

Brigette Bilyeu is an attorney and Special Master for Idaho's water court. She is a member of the St. Luke's Health System board of directors. Brigette served on the Governance Committee for many years, and is currently the chair of the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee. Since 1993, Brigette has been a Special Master in the Snake River Basin Adjudication, and the Coeur d'Alene-Spokane River Basin Adjudication. Previously, she was a litigator with the Boise law firm of Elam, Burke & Boyd. She received her juris doctorate degree from the University of Idaho, and a bachelor's degree in economics from Harvard University. She remains a fan of the Boston Red Sox, the Boston Celtics, and the New England Patriots. A member of the Idaho Bar Association, Brigette participates in the water law section. She served on the court steering committee that worked on revising the water statutes passed by the Idaho Legislature. Brigette has presided over hearings in the Big Lost River, the Big Wood River, and in northern Idaho. Brigette has two sons, Sterling and Winston Duggan. She has enjoyed following their adventures in basketball and baseball. She took up photography to capture great memories of her sons at Twin Falls High School. She is passionate about photography, and is a member of the Magic Valley Camera Club.

Cass R. Smith

Cass R. Smith, MD is a pediatric gastroenterologist who sees a wide variety of pediatric patients. His areas of special interest include inflammatory bowel disease, diseases of the pancreas and liver, eosinophilic esophagitis, neurogenic bowel due to spina bifida, functional abdominal pain and constipation. He performs upper and lower endoscopy, including removal of polyps and control of bleeding, liver biopsies, removal of foreign bodies and care and maintenance of gastrostomy tubes. Dr. Smith asks for and respects input and decisions from children and their parents, supporting them in maintaining an active role in medical care. At St. Luke's, Dr. Smith has helped lead numerous quality improvement initiatives, working to standardize pediatric gastrointestinal (GI) care. He is also committed to advancing the quality of care throughout Idaho. He travels to Idaho Falls regularly to offer clinic visits and endoscopy to patients in eastern Idaho. Dr. Smith completed his bachelor's degree in zoology at Brigham Young University. During medical school at the University of Nevada, Reno, he achieved special qualifications in nutrition and conducted research in natural killer and lymphokine-activated killer cell activity and antioxidants. He completed his residency in pediatrics at the combined University of Nebraska/Creighton University program and his fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. In his free time, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with his wife and children, golfing, camping, hiking and fishing. He also enjoys woodworking and regularly submits pieces for auction at the annual St. Luke's Children's Hospital fundraiser Kid for a Night.

Charlotte E. Alexander

Biography Charlotte Alexander, MD specializes in hand surgery. She is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is the Wood River Valley's only hand fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon. She earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, and completed the noted Sterling Bunnell-Navy Hand Fellowship under the direction of David M. Lichtman, MD and John J. Niebauer, MD. Dr. Alexander served as director of Hand Surgery at the Residency Training Program at the Naval Medical Center in Oakland, where she held the rank of Captain, Medical Corps, United States Navy, and her medical awards include the Navy Commendation Medal. Chris Roth - CEO, President

Chris is an experienced change leader and visionary health care executive providing strategic direction and shaping a culture of continuous improvement for Idaho's largest health system. He has more than 30 years' experience in health care, starting as a pharmacy technician with Intermountain Healthcare and moving into positions of increasing responsibility in administration, specialty practice management, and executive and leadership positions with Northwest Hospital & Medical Center in Seattle, Ochsner Health System in New Orleans, and other health organizations. He joined St. Luke's in early 2007, when the organization had been a health system for less than six months, and led much of the effort to establish the organization as one of the top health systems in the United States. He served St. Luke's as vice president and chief operating officer and then as chief executive officer of the Treasure Valley region, responsible for region-wide health care operations encompassing the Treasure Valley and West Treasure Valley communities of Fruitland, Meridian, and Eagle. In addition, his responsibilities included oversight of St. Luke's Eastern Oregon operations. Roth subsequently was promoted to the position of senior vice president and chief operating officer for the health system before being selected in 2019 as president and CEO; he assumed these latter responsibilities in February of 2020. Philanthropic commitment, community engagement, strong and balanced performance, and St. Luke's ongoing transformation to value are among the initiatives that Chris has helped to guide during his leadership, informed by his three-plus decades of professional commitment across the health care delivery continuum. He has extensive industry knowledge of and experience with emerging technologies, care delivery, and care models, and consumerism and the consumer experience. Chris has built winning teams, mentored emerging leaders and executives, and cultivated strong community partners and partnerships. During his tenure at St. Luke's, he has helmed operations as St. Luke's implemented an Epic-based electronic health records system; the organization's implementation is considered one of the most successful to date. Biography Clint Allred, MD, FACC is a general cardiologist with additional board certification in clinical lipidology. Emily Baker is a fifth-generation Idahoan and co-founder and president of Portman Square Group (PSG), a strategic communications firm that works with Fortune 500, government and nonprofit organizations. She has spent more than 20 years in government and public affairs, communications and crisis management. Emily was appointed by President George W. Bush to serve as administrator for the General Services Administration's (GSA) Northeast and Caribbean region, becoming one of the youngest people ever appointed to the U.S. government's Senior Executive Service. While with the GSA, she managed a nearly $2 billion annual budget and led multiple significant projects having to do with the U.S. Mission to the United Nations, lease negotiations for One World Trade Center, labor negotiations and sustainability projects. Prior to her service with GSA, Emily served as deputy director of congressional and intergovernmental affairs with the U.S. Department of Commerce, focusing extensively on international trade and intellectual property, and traveled extensively as a press advance representative in Asia, Africa and the Middle East for the White House with several administrations. She is a writer and contributor to multiple publications and media outlets on international trade, domestic and foreign policy, as well as presidential elections, and serves as a frequent guest lecturer and speaker on communications and leadership. A former Bronco, she is an adjunct professor in political communications at Boise State. Emily began her career in Idaho as a policy aide to Gov. Phil Batt and later worked with Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour's BGR Group in Washington, D.C. Prior to founding PSG, Baker was a managing partner with Gallatin Public Affairs. She has been a participant in the Presidential Leadership Scholars program. Emily is passionate about philanthropy and serves on the American Red Cross of Greater Idaho board of directors, the executive board for the Boise State Foundation, the advisory board for Idaho Women in Leadership and as chair-elect for the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce, as well as the CSHQA corporate board. Over her long career, she dedicated herself to children as a teacher of Spanish, English, English as a second language (ESL), and special education. She is a member and past president of the Council for Exceptional Children. Janet earned her bachelor's degree in Spanish from the University of Colorado and her master's degree in special education from Idaho State University. "I have always had an interest in the medical field, as my mother worked for three psychiatrists and a general surgeon," Janet says. She has been a registered nurse at St. Luke's Jerome/St. Benedicts Family Medical Center for more than 40 years. She was a bedside nurse in the hospital for 10 years, followed by 20 years as director of the Long-Term Care Unit, where she became a licensed nursing home administrator. For the past 10 years, she has returned to the acute care hospital setting in a nursing leadership role. "I was born at the Jerome hospital, as were my three children," Jill says. "I have a strong desire to maintain a hospital presence in our community that offers safe, quality care." Jill earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from Boise State University and has been a licensed registered nurse by the State of Idaho since 1979. She has been a licensed nursing home administrator by the State of Idaho since 1999. She was appointed by the governor to serve on the Idaho State Board of Nursing for three terms, serving from 2003 to 2015. She was recognized by the Idaho Business Review as a Healthcare Hero Nurse in 2008 and received the Jerome Chamber's Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017.

John Shine, community leader and former mayor of the City of Jerome, is a member of St. Luke's Magic Valley/Jerome Community Board. John worked for IBM in a variety of roles, is the former owner of CompuNet, and is the former chair of the Jerome Urban Renewal Agency. He is committee chair of Boy Scout Troop/Pack/Crew 139, Snake River Council: Management, Training, and Leadership, and active in the operation of the Jerome Food Pantry. John has lived a lifetime of service to others in many capacities, and says he plans to continue until he's no longer able. Public service has become a personal commitment and central focus since retirement has allowed him the time. Through life experience, he became very interested in the delivery and cost of health care. He testified at public hearings, as a citizen, for the merger of St. Luke's and the former Magic Valley Regional Medical Center. As mayor of Jerome, he worked with the publicity campaign to ensure a positive community response to the integration of St. Luke's and the former St. Benedicts Hospital. John saw an opportunity to be of further use to St. Luke's, accepting a position on the East Region Planning Committee. Subsequently, he was asked to join the Community Board. "Board membership is an important element of my public service commitment and therefore my life's work," John says. "I believe I add value to St. Luke's, and membership certainly adds value to my life." John is married and has six children and 11 grandchildren. Lloyd Knight, a longtime veterinarian and community leader, is a member of St. Luke's Elmore Community Board. Lloyd was born in Ontario, Oregon and attended school in New Plymouth and Richland, Oregon. He earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon then went on to graduate from the Washington State University in veterinary medicine. He was a practicing veterinarian in Mountain Home and the surrounding area for many years and served in a variety of roles with state and national veterinary medical associations, including nearly 12 years with a group health and life insurance trust. Lloyd served on the Elmore Medical Center Board of Trustees from 1982-2006. He contracted with the Board of Trustees as the community process director from 2007-2013 and served as liaison between the Board and the community, focusing primarily on integration-associated efforts. Lloyd and his wife, Orla, live in Hammett. "We enjoy visiting our two sons and daughter and their families," Lloyd says, "especially at get-togethers at Redfish Lake or near Trail Creek."

Originally from Rochester, N.Y., Dr. DiMaggio earned a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Rochester and a medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She completed her internship and residents at SUNY Buffalo and combined hospital university training at Buffalo General Hospital, Erie County Medical Center and Buffalo Veterans Administration Medical Center. A former clinical assistant professor in the department of medicine at SUNY Buffalo, Dr. DiMaggio has worked as a medical consultant for the United Cerebral Palsy Association and Ecology and Environment, Inc. She faithfully served her country for 30 years and has been an Idaho resident for more than 38 years. Mildred is a member of the First Congregational Church, where she served on the deaconate board for six years and a one-year term as the deaconate chairperson. She is actively involved in the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and Mountain Home Community Black History Committee and was the first black woman to serve as president of the Idaho Federation of Business and Professional Women. She was recognized as the Air Combat Command Transportation Professional of the Year in 1991, 2000 and 2001 and was awarded the 366th Wing Transportation Civilian of the Year Award in 1996, 1997 and 2002. In 1993, the State of Idaho Military Division recognized her for contributions during Operation Desert Storm. That same year, the Mountain Home Black History Committee chose Mildred as Person of the Year. Mildred enjoys reading, gardening, the piano, the arts and golfing. Reverend Richard Gorman

Reverend Richard Gorman is the past manager of the spiritual care department at St. Luke's. Previously, he was national director for Institutional Chaplain Ministries in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and chaplain at various hospitals. Rich served 17 years as part of a Red Cross-National Crisis Response team. He currently lives in Mountain Home with his wife Debra. They have two children, Lisa and Krista.

Richard "Rich" Raimondi, an Idaho business and education leader, is the past chair of the St. Luke's Health System Board of Directors. Since 2010, Rich has served as president of Bishop Kelly High School, a Catholic school in Boise. Previously he worked for nearly 30 years for Hewlett-Packard. During his HP career, Rich held positions in finance, marketing and general management in Boise, the Bay Area and Barcelona, Spain. He retired in November 2008 after 16 years as a Vice President/Senior Vice President in several businesses inside HP. Originally from California, Rich earned a bachelors' degree in history from Stanford and an MBA in finance from the University of Oregon. He has served on numerous boards in the Boise area and is currently serving on the boards of the Treasure Valley YMCA, the Idaho Technology Council, the Trey McIntyre Project, and as chair of the Treasure Valley Education Partnership (TVEP).

Richard K. Gilroy

Biography Richard K. Gilroy, MD is medical director of Liver Transplant and Hepatology for the Intermountain Health System. He is an active member in multiple societies and participates in guideline developments in hepatology and transplantation. At Intermountain he oversees multiple clinical and investigator-initiated research studies and was responsible for overseeing a quality and the initiation of a process leading to Intermountain undertaking the world's first intentional hepatitis C positive organ transplants into hepatitis C negative patients. Dr Gilroy's current research initiatives have moved to population-based health in Utah covering obesity, NASH, PSC, PBC, and ulcerative colitis. Dr. Gilroy's former positions include being on faculty at the University of Nebraska and a professor of medicine at the University of Kansas.

Robert Vosskuhler, MD is a US Navy veteran, having reached the rank of captain. He served as a member of the US Navy Special Warfare Seal Team I and III. He was the Commanding Officer, Chief of Surgery for the First Mobile Field Hospital, and was CEO and medical director for Clinical Research Partners. Dr. Vosskuhler currently serves on the St. Luke's McCall Community Board and the SLHS Medical Staff Affairs Committee. He is dedicated to the McCall community, serving as chair of the McCall Community Board Development Committee, Payette Land Trust Board of Directors, Attorney Professional Services Board of Directors, and as a volunteer fire firefighter and EMT instructor. Dr. Vosskuhler earned his bachelor's degree from Notre Dame and his MD from Marquette University. He completed his internship and surgical residency at the United States Naval Hospital, San Diego; his fellowship in head and neck surgery at M D Anderson, Houston Texas; his fellowship in wound care at Oxford University, England; and his fire fighter I and II certification at Idaho State University. Dr. Vosskuhler also had the honor of serving at Oxford as a lecturer of thermoregulation, wound care, and treatment of the four classic chronic wounds. Bob enjoys time with his family and all of the outdoor activities that McCall and San Diego have to offer.

Rosa M. Dávila

Rosa M. Dávila, Ph.D., has been employed at the College of Southern Idaho since 1995 - starting as an assistant professor of chemistry and now serving as a distinguished professor of chemistry. Dr. Dávila has received many awards throughout her work, including being recognized with the Scientific Ways of Knowing General Education Teaching Award through the Idaho State Board of Education's General Education Committee and Capital Educators Credit Union in May 2021, the Outstanding Academic Faculty Award 2002-2003 through the College of Southern Idaho Foundation - Wells Fargo in May 2003, and the Teaching Excellence Award - Honorarium from the College of Southern Idaho - Albertson's Foundation in September 2001. Dr. Dávila has been highly engaged within St. Luke's Health System. She currently serves on the Medical Staff Affairs Committee and has been in that role since October 2018. Roseanna Holliday

RoseAnna Holliday is the chair of the Health Sciences Human Services Department at the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls. She holds a PhD in nutritional sciences from the University of Connecticut, and is a former Miss Idaho and Miss America contestant. She volunteers for the Miss Magic Valley Scholarship Program, for which she was previously executive director; the Miss Idaho Scholarship Program; sits on various committees at the College of Southern Idaho; and serves on the board of the Idaho Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Russell W. Mayes

Russell Mayes, DO, FAO-CO is board certified in otolaryngology and facial plastic surgery. He treats both children and adults for many disorders involving the ears, nose, and throat (ENT). His main areas of focus include sinus and allergy disorders, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, and head and neck cancer. He also sees patients with problems involving the tonsils, ear infections, hoarseness, and hearing loss.

He has served on the City of Twin Falls Planning and Zoning Commission, Magic Valley Builders Association Board, YMCA of Twin Falls Board, Blue Lakes Country Club Board, Building Advisory Board, Idaho State Department of Insurance Continuing Education Board, and the Southern Idaho Association of Health Underwriters Board. He earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from Idaho State University. "St. Luke's is one of our community's biggest and best assets, and I wanted to be a part of the future of both St. Luke's and the Twin Falls community," Scott says about joining the Community Board. The board has also given him an opportunity to learn how insurance products work from all points of view. Timothy Sawyer

Timothy Sawyer, MD is a radiation oncologist at St. Luke's Cancer Institute and medical director of the Nampa location. He served for several years as medical director of Saint Alphonsus Cancer Care Center. Dr. Sawyer serves as the CEO and founder of ImQuant, Inc., a company dedicated to creating technology that helps tailor cancer treatment and other medical therapies to individual patients. He has served as co-director for lung cancer research at the Mayo Clinic North Central Cancer Treatment Group, and as adjunct faculty at Johns Hopkins Medical School. He practiced radiation oncology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, and served as assistant professor at the Uniformed Services University for the Health Sciences. Tom Corrick, retired CEO for Boise Cascade Co., is a member of the St. Luke's System board of directors. He is also a senior advisor for Farran Realty Partners, a multi-family developer in Montana. Tom joined Boise Cascade in 1980, and was named CEO in 2015, leading one of the largest producers of plywood and engineered wood products in North America. During his more than three decades with the company, he served as senior vice president of Wood Products Manufacturing, senior vice president of Engineered Wood Products and held various management and financial positions within the company, including in treasury and planning. A member of the Treasure Valley YMCA board of directors, Tom will assume the chair of the board of directors in July 2022. He is a past chairperson for the American Wood Council (AWC), and served on the board of the Salt Lake City branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. Tom and his wife, Laurie, have two daughters. In their free time, the Corrick family enjoys spending time hiking, traveling and watching the performing arts. Travis Rothweiler was appointed city manager for the City of Twin Falls in 2011. In his position, he serves as the city's chief executive officer and is responsible for providing the overall leadership element. He oversees and executes the day-to-day and strategic operations and works collaboratively with the city council and departments on activities designed to advance, promote and secure the community. Statutorily, the city manager, with significant contributions and input from department leaders, is responsible to develop and construct a balanced and sustainable budget for the city council's consideration. Prior to joining the City of Twin Falls, Travis served as city administrator for the City of Jerome. He also worked for former U.S. Senator Conrad Burns (Montana) and as the assistant to the majority leader for the Montana House of Representatives for five legislative sessions. Travis earned his bachelor's degree in political science in 1996 and master's degree in public administration in 1998, both from Montana State University in Bozeman. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia's Senior Executive Institute (2007) and Leadership, Education and Development (LEAD) program (2002). Travis is the recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow Award from the Twin Falls Rotary Club, International City/County Management Association for Program Excellence and Innovation, and was named one of Idaho's CEOs of Influence for 2016 by the Idaho Business Review. He remains the only public sector CEO in Idaho to have received this award. He is recognized as a credentialed manager by the International City Manager Association. Travis is passionate about endurance sports, especially triathlons. He has competed in all distances, from Sprints to the Ironman. He has set the ambitious goal of qualifying for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships as well as the Ironman World Championships held in Kona each year before he turns 50. Tyler M. Burpee

Tyler Burpee, MD specializes in the management of both common and complex childhood digestive conditions. He is the medical director of St. Luke's intestinal rehabilitation program that cares for children with short bowel syndrome and intestinal failure. He also has a special interest in celiac disease and inflammatory bowel disease, including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Dr. Burpee is passionate about child advocacy and currently serves as president of the Idaho Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He has published multiple research papers and book chapters regarding inflammatory bowel disease, infectious diarrhea, and autoimmune liver disease. Originally from Boise, Dr. Burpee earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Dartmouth College, graduating with honors. While at Dartmouth, he was a member of the varsity crew team. After medical school and pediatrics residency training at the University of Washington School of Medicine, Dr. Burpee worked as a general pediatrician for two years with the Indian Health Service on the Navajo reservation in Chinle, Arizona. Next, he trained under world-renowned experts in pediatric gastroenterology during his fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital/Harvard School of Medicine. He also served as an attending physician at Seattle Children's Hospital before moving back to Boise. In his free time, Dr. Burpee enjoys skiing, running, mountain biking, and adventuring with his wife and two children.
