Adam Frankling

Adam is also trustee of Compton Care, a charity which partners with people to embrace life with a complex or incurable condition. Adam is part of our team that offer diagnosis of current culture and create prioritised action plans and facilitate this! offering facilitation training and support. Following a BSc (Hons) in Business and Management Studies from Bradford University and achieving the Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, the first chapters of Adam's career were in successful work-winning and marketing roles. He has over 20 years' experience; nearly a decade with a global leader in construction and concessions. He's held director-level roles, as Associate Director of a multifaceted engineering group and Client Services Director of a specialist business consultancy focused on strategy, leadership and engagement where he worked with several blue-chip clients. He discovered his strengths and passion lie in helping organisations implement high-performing cultures in organisations where success is measured beyond pounds and pence; charities, public sector, health, SMEs or any organisation with a particular social emphasis. His focus is now on three areas:

Adrian Hutt

Before joining the team at iPiP, Adrian was a watch commander at West Midlands Fire and Rescue Service (FRS). He has a particular interest in fire safety and carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning. Adrian has achieved recognition at both a local and national levels for his work in supporting interagency collaborations to improve home safety. Working alongside the local authority health teams, he was the "Achieving Marmot" project lead for West Midlands FRS and has been involved in several studies looking at the impact and prevalence of CO in some of the most vulnerable communities. Currently, Adrian is the FRS lead for the IPPCO study which is looking at identifying and protecting pregnant women from Environmental CO poisoning. He was presented with a Good Citizen Award by the Mayor of Coventry, his honor states "the actions he has taken have been instrumental in making our communities a safer place to live and work and he is therefore truly deserving of this Good Citizen Award."

Aidan O Driscoll

Alison Baum

Alison is an impact-driven charity leader and social entrepreneur with a strong communications and science background, respected for her natural ability to inspire, and to think outside of the box. She catalyses change through system thinking, innovation, and solution-focused co-creation. Alison has led the development and deployment of multiple cost-effective innovative approaches to empower and inform, drive policy change, and transform the outcomes and experiences of diverse beneficiaries. She is passionate about social justice and the power of kindness, collaboration, evidence, and iterative data-driven learning to tackle seemingly intractable problems. In 2006, building upon the knowledge and experience garnered at the University of Oxford, University College London, and the BBC, she founded the national charity Best Beginnings with a focus on reducing inequalities. For fifteen years, as Best Beginnings CEO, she worked nationally and internationally to improve the mental and physical health outcomes of children and their parents in ways that enrich statutory and charitable services. At Best Beginnings, she gained substantial experience growing and nurturing diverse teams, motivating audiences of all backgrounds, and securing multi-year funding from multiple income streams, forging and actively supported several national coalitions, partnerships, and alliances including the Royal Foundation led "Heads Together" campaign. Alison stepped down as CEO in 2022 and now holds the honorary role of President. Alison relishes working closely with senior leaders across multiple sectors, and with people of all backgrounds including internal teams, volunteers, beneficiaries, academics, multi-disciplinary frontline professionals, commissioners, and philanthropists.

Amanda Stott

Caroline Hooper

She is a qualified Project Manager and Management/Life Coach and Mentor. Over the past 10 years her experience with Activmob has deepened in the areas of insight gathering, developing partnerships, facilitation and coaching and mentoring. Caroline is passionate about engaging and motivating all to participate; including those often disengaged or on the fringes of society and on topics many would find challenging such as end of life, living with long term mental health and other long-term conditions. A particular strength and expertise are drawn from over a decade's experience in the sector; presentation of analysis, while sharing insights and experiences from both the front line and customers. Caroline has specific experience of designing, leading and facilitating complex multi-agency workshops and events. Dawn Reeves

Dawn is a highly skilled professional facilitator with great depth and breadth of facilitation experience. She has been a lead facilitator with Facilitate This! since 2009. Dawn designs and facilitates meetings that maximise participation and achieve their objectives. Dawn has worked with many parts of the Health Sector in the UK. She facilitates top teams in the public sector, her professional interests are in supporting partners to introduce and implement change and using creative approaches to organisations seeking to change culture. In a voluntary capacity, she is a trustee of a Permanently Endowed Foundation specialising in poverty, well-being and mental health.

Hilary Wareing - Managing Director

Hilary has a background in health research and management as well as a clinical background as a registered general nurse, midwife and health visitor. Her main areas of interest are supporting organisations to implement evidence-based practice, improving performance in practice and the impact of organisational culture on professional practice and organisational outcomes. Hilary is particularly interested in using asset-based approaches in the development of public health initiatives and in gaining and maintaining compliance with public health policies and legislation. The areas of work she is currently involved in includes implementing midwifery continuity of care, developing and implementing sector led improvement tools, reducing the prevalence of smoking in pregnancy, secondary care and mental health. She led the development of babyClear, an evidence based whole-systems approach converting the evidence and guidance into practice. She is also involved in developing and applying sector led improvement tools which support the commissioning and delivery of public health interventions. Along with the Institute of Health Visiting, she recently developed and implemented an SLI tool to support the commissioning and delivery of evidence based health visiting and school nursing services. Hilary leads the team that provides tobacco and alcohol CLeaR peer assessments across England. She also led the development and piloting of a toolkit to help local authorities protect their health policy from the vested interests of the tobacco industry. Hilary sits on the Pregnancy Challenge group, was a professional member of the Public Health Programme Development group for the NICE guidance PH48 Smoking in Secondary Care, has been a topic advisor to the NICE Quality Standards Advisory Committee and is an Expert Advisor for the NICE Centre for Guidelines. She is a member of the ASH Advisory Council and the All Party Parliamentary CO Group's (APPCOG) Healthcare Sub-Group and acts as an expert advisor to WHO Europe.

Ian Davis

Ian is a qualified teacher, coach and trainer, with over 20 years of experience, developing and delivering engaging, experiential learning programmes in the UK, Middle East and South-East Asia. He spends his time divided between the UK and Myanmar, which has been his second home for the last decade. He's worked with a wide range of multi-national organisations within the public and private sector, running inspiring management training, team development and facilitation skills programmes. This experience leads to a deep understanding of cultural challenges when working in teams and organisations. He has a passion for human behaviour and neuroscience and uses this knowledge to enable teams, leaders and organisations to work more effectively together. Ian is qualified in both PRISM Brain Mapping and Meta Team, two diagnostic tools which help develop self-awareness and improve individual and team performance

Ian Gray

Ian is a Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) and Associate Member of the Chartered Trading Standards Institute. He was the CIEH policy lead on public health and health protection for 14 years and has extensive experience in delivering public health improvements through policy development and good practice at national and international level. Ian is widely recognised for championing key public health issues and measures to control both communicable and non-communicable diseases on diverse issues including HIV infection, tattooing and body piercing and healthy eating. He has been a lifelong campaigner for the protection for workers and the public from secondhand tobacco smoke and was highly influential in the development and implementation of the smoke-free legislation in the UK. He is a specialist advisor to the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence and provided advice on evidence-based practice to reduce smoking prevalence, including tobacco harm reduction. Ian continues to provide professional guidance and training to national and international organisations, including the World Health Organisation. He received the President's Award from the Royal Society for Public Health for excellence in professional practice and was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire for his services to public health. Jennifer Percival

Jennifer Percival is a qualified Nurse, Midwife, Health Visitor, Counsellor and Public Health lecturer. In her role as an independent training consultant, she has worked for many organisations, including WHO Tobacco Free Initiative, International Council of Nurses, Solutions4Health, NCSCT and PHE. She is the author of over 65 published articles and peer reviewed papers and her book ‘You Can Stop Smoking' published by Virgin, has been translated into many languages. Specialising in teaching communication and motivational interviewing skills to healthcare professionals Jennifer has delivered workshops in over 30 countries including New Zealand, USA, Iceland, Moldovia, Romania, Hungary, Sweden, Taiwan, Kuwait, India and Hong Kong. Jennifer was the Tobacco Policy Advisor for the Royal College of Nursing for 12 years and developed the first smoking cessation training programmes for nurses. In addition, she worked with the Department of Health on their mass media, anti-smoking campaign and sourced the participants for the hard-hitting TV Testimonial stories. She now runs classes for a wide range of staff on ways to help people change their behaviour and how to engage those, unwilling, unconfident, or resistant to change.

Joanne Pullen

Joanne has a background in social research as well professional background in sports and fitness. She has led on a number of successful research and behaviour change projects locally and nationally, as part of social marketing campaigns, complex service design or system evaluation. Joanne is also the innovator in residence at the University of Kent Business School. Joanne is an extremely passionate and engaging leader with a background in social research. She has experience of over a decade of engagement with a multitude of stakeholders on some of the most challenging issues we face. She is an experienced behaviour change expert with a passion for engagement and innovation and had led on several successful projects locally and nationally, as part of social marketing campaigns, complex service design or system evaluation. Her strengths lie in project management, analysis and innovation within the research and health behaviour fields. She has strong and established skills and experience in both designing and undertaking behavioural research and enjoys creating unique ways of engaging with different groups.

Karen Jones

Karen serves as the Managing Director for Denison Consulting Europe in the UK, Ireland & Nordics. She is based in the North of England but works as part of the European team, with the headquarters in the Lake Constance area, Germany. Her responsibilities include developing and supporting the partner network in the UK, Ireland & Nordics, whilst providing direct consulting services across the product and solutions portfolio of Denison Consulting. Karen started her career in the National Health Service gaining personal experience of the importance of leadership and accountability for delivering promises to vulnerable clients. From specializing in plastic surgery, she moved into the academic study of psychology. She spent eight years in research at King's College University, London gaining a research fellowship from Smith & Nephew whilst completing an MSc in Research Methods. She researched shared decision making and the impact of evidenced based practice within primary care at Newcastle University Medical School, where she acquired a respect for evidence based decision making. She has been invited to New Zealand as a visiting Lecturer, and as an External Examiner Stirling University, Scotland. She has worked in corporate development driving a leaders/managers as coach initiative and incorporating lean methodology within project management. She spent three years within a company of occupational psychologists where she began to differentiate organisational culture and leadership climate. She has run her own firm where she combined an approach which enabled clients to drive a high performance culture and create a climate that encourages openness, trust and compassionate accountability. Kim Watts

Kim trained initially as a general nurse and then as a midwife in the UK. She worked in various clinical and midwifery management roles across all service provision in several health regions in the UK. She is a passionate advocate for women, their families and midwifery. She is an experienced academic with research expertise in both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. Her current research focuses on domestic violence, service models, smoking cessation and public health related topics that impact on maternal and neonatal outcomes and women's long-term health. She has presented and published her findings widely at both international and national conferences and currently reviews for specialist journals and funding bodies. Kim is an experienced educationalist and has recently designed and delivered training programmes across England to midwives and senior management on the implementation and delivery of Midwifery Continuity of Carer at local service delivery levels and she is also an experienced facilitator. In her academic career she has co-designed and managed educational programmes from undergraduate through to doctoral level studies at both cross faculty and divisional levels. Combining her experience as a clinical midwife, educationalist and researcher Kim is able to examine the efficacy of maternity care and service provision and advice and support others leading and working in maternity services.

Laurence Knott

Laurence is an ICF accredited (ACC) Executive Coach with a background in urban policy, regeneration, employment and skills, community development and public health. As a consultant and facilitator Laurence has worked with a variety of public and voluntary agencies in London over the last 20 years to develop and manage a wide range of projects and programmes. Recent clients have included ADPH London, Central London Forward and the City of London Corporation. Now based in Manchester, Laurence's coaching and facilitation focuses on leadership development, performance, team development and stakeholder management. Fundamental to Laurence's work is helping his individual and organisational clients lead from a place of mental clarity, innate resilience and wellbeing and personal mastery. As a leadership coach with 10 years of experience Laurence deploys a wide range of approaches to facilitate change and growth aligned to his client's goals. He draws on my extensive training and knowledge in Pure Coaching, Positive Psychology, Humanistic Psychology, Jungian Archetypes, Neuroscience, Transactional Analysis, Human Givens, Cognitive Hypnotherapy, Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) and the Inside Out understanding (aka the 3 Principles). Lisa Fendall

Lisa has a background in nursing and midwifery with 22 years' experience in smoking cessation. She has worked as a specialist midwife within busy units in deprived areas of South Yorkshire implementing evidence based smoking cessation interventions and this has led to her developing a great understanding and insight into the barriers to cessation faced by both health care professionals and smokers. Lisa is an experienced trainer and facilitator, she has developed and provided training for those working in some of the most deprived areas of the country. Her work as a specialist midwife in Rotherham led to the development of a unique approach, now known as the ‘Risk Perception' Intervention. Working together with the iPiP team, a training programme for midwives has been developed and the intervention forms part of the babyClear approach and has been implemented widely across the UK with great success. She has developed and delivered training programmes for staff working in prisons, pharmacies, GP practice, secondary care and mental health settings. Lisa has delivered face to face practitioner training across many areas, participated in research programmes and has written articles for publication in the BJM and Nursing in Practice. Lisa has also developed and delivered training webinars such as the IMPACT SERIES and educational tools to support clinical staff in primary care and was part of the Enhance Programme with Dr Alex Bobak, Gay Sutherland, Jennifer Percival and Darush Akhtar. Lisa has the insights, understanding and knowledge required to deliver high quality training to health professionals, supporting them to deliver evidence based and impactful interventions.

Mark Williams

Mark Williams is a keynote speaker, author, and international campaigner. He founded International Fathers Mental Health Day and #Howareyoudad campaign to make sure all parents are having support for the whole family. Mark also started the campaign to reopen the mother and baby unit in Wales which reopened in 2022 after being closed for 7 years. Mark has spoken on television and radio stations around the world while working with Dr Jane Hanley who have both published articles on parental mental health together.

Mary Yates

Until June 2022 Mary was the nurse consultant for Health Promotion and wellbeing at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. Mary led the Trust in its journey to become smoke-free and support their service users to quit smoking, an addiction that disproportionately affects those living with mental illness. She has been and continues to be an inspiration and source of advice to others who are on similar journeys.

Matt Brown

Matt Brown is a devoted father in a joyfully blended marriage, blessed with three remarkable children. Commencing his journey into fatherhood in 2019 with the arrival of his first child, and later welcoming twins in 2022, he is actively engaged in childcare. In response to the observed deficit in support for fathers, He established secure environments facilitating open dialogue, enabling fathers to share concerns and glean insights from shared experiences. Through his podcast and diverse interactions within the fatherhood community, he is privileged to contribute to the personal growth and well-being of fellow fathers facing similar circumstances.

Paul Hooper

Paul qualified as an Environmental Health Officer in Birmingham. After gaining varied experience he specialised in tobacco control for many years. As Regional Tobacco Policy Manager for the Department of Health, he was heavily involved in the development and implementation of the English Smoke-Free Law and the expansion of specialist stop-smoking services. His tobacco control work was recognised with Honorary Membership of the Faculty of Public Health. Paul has extensive media experience and is particularly skilled in providing training, chairing seminars, and presenting to a variety of professionals. Paul also has knowledge of modern local government and the partnership environment in a time of diminishing resources. He has managed a wide range of council services including the commissioning of drug, alcohol, and domestic abuse contracts, aspects of community safety and crime prevention, and local authority counter-terrorism. He has been a consultant to the World Health Organisation for several years advising numerous countries on aspects of tobacco control through in-country assessments and workshops, virtual training and developing online interactive training packages. Paul is Co-Director of the Tobacco Control Collaborating Centre and has experience of both the Tobacco and Alcohol CLeaR assessment tools.

Sarah King

Sarah is passionate about facilitating experiential learning and wellbeing for all after a career of training and managing high performance teams. Over the last 25 years, she has designed, developed and delivered dynamic workshops and training sessions for a wide variety of companies. She is committed to making business and management skills enjoyable and inspiring, so that they have a lasting effect on all involved. Her positive energy and engaging delivery style has enabled her to work with young people to build on their confidence and skills. In recent years Sarah's exceptional skills as a facilitator has led her to create thought provoking discussions around diversity and inclusion, and wellbeing in the workplace .

Scott Mair
