Abigail Frankfort

Abigail Frankfort is a Project Manager for Blue Food. Abigail works as part of a global team to support the implementation of the Ocean Program's work on sustainable blue food systems. Working predominantly with the Ocean Action Agenda, coordinated by WRI and the World Economic Forum, she contributes to delivering the Blue Food agenda by managing the Seafood Loss and Waste project, currently being piloted in Namibia. Abigail has a Master's in Environment and Development, with a specialization in Sustainable Food Systems. Prior to joining WRI she has had roles in both the private and public sectors, most recently for sustainability consultancy, Corporate Citizenship, where she worked across the ESG spectrum helping clients achieve their social and environmental goals. Abigail has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Bristol in biology and is passionate about nature's solutions to global problems.

Adriana Lobo

Adriana Lobo is Managing Director of Global Presence and National Action at the World Resources Institute. She has more than 20 years of professional experience promoting sustainable policies, urban mobility projects, urban development and environment. During her 18 years as executive director of the World Resources Institute Mexico (formerly CTS EMBARQ Mexico) and more recently Colombia, Adriana has led the organization from 5 to 100 people in Mexico, the opening of the Colombia office and significant achievements, starting with the implementation of the first BRT system in Mexico City, Metrobús, which carries over 1.5 million daily passengers. She also led the partnership for the implementation of transit systems in Guadalajara and other Mexican cities, also influencing significantly the Mobility and Road Safety Mexican National Policy, other legislations and the creation of funds. Other significant achievements are the introduction of electric buses in Colombian and Mexican Cities, the Coalition for Urban transition and the implementation of the Building Efficiency Accelerator, and the Clean Energy Investment Accelerator. Previously, she worked for more than eight years in the consulting firms Logit and Transconsult. She studied civil engineering at the Escola Politécnica of the University of Sao Paulo.

Afsaneh M. Beschloss

Ms. Beschloss is founder and CEO of RockCreek. Previously, she was Managing Director and Partner at the Carlyle Group and President of Carlyle Asset Management. She was Treasurer and Chief Investment Officer of the World Bank and worked at Shell International and J.P. Morgan. Ms. Beschloss has advised governments, central banks, and regulatory agencies on global public policy and financial policy. She led the World Bank's energy investments and policy advisory work on oil, natural gas, renewable and clean energy and power projects to reduce carbon emissions. She founded its natural gas investment and policy group to replace coal in many emerging markets. Ms. Beschloss is on the boards of the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, the World Resources Institute, the American Red Cross, and is the Vice-Chair of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). She is on the Visiting Committee at the Center for Development Economics at Williams College and is a member of the World Economic Forum's Investor Governors and the Council of Foreign Relations. Ms. Beschloss is a past Trustee of the Ford Foundation, where she chaired the Investment Committee and was on the Sustainability Advisory Committee. She is a recipient of the Institutional Investor Lifetime Achievement Award and the Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope Award. She was recognized as one of American Banker's Most Powerful Women in Banking. Ms. Beschloss holds an MPhil (Honors) in Economics from the University of Oxford, where she taught international trade and economic development. She is the co-author of The Economics of Natural Gas and author of numerous journal articles on energy and finance.

Alejandra Achury

Alejandra Achury is research analyst who focuses on financial solutions for fleet electrification, analyzing total cost of ownership, economic benefits, and diverse business models. She supports school bus electrification efforts in the United States through the Electric School Bus Initiative, as well as public transportation through the Cities program in WRI Colombia. Throughout her career, Alejandra has set out to use her experience and skills in business, public policy, and data to seek solutions for a more sustainable and equitable world. Prior to joining the team, she worked as a business analyst at Idea Foundry, researching the social impact entrepreneurial ecosystem and developing partnerships to create programs for social entrepreneurs in Colombia. Alejandra holds a Master of Science in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University. She also obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration at CUNY Baruch College in New York City.

Alex Perera

Alex Perera is Deputy Director of WRI's Energy Program and the Corporate Partnership Lead for Energy. Joining WRI in 2007, Alex has over 20 years of experience in energy policy, finance, and corporate energy strategy. He has built partnerships with the private sector to innovate and scale renewable energy procurement models in the United States, Asia, and Latin America. Prior to joining WRI, he helped found a company called Bigbelly Solar, a renewable energy company that developed solar powered trash compactors that helped cities reduce diesel fuel consumption from trash collection trucks. Alex was a Financial Analyst at the investment bank Bear, Stearns and Co. Inc. where he helped to structure over $1 billion in municipal financing in the utility sector. He has served as the Program Director for the New York Energy Efficiency Council, an organization that represented Energy Service Companies (ESCOs) in New York State electric deregulation proceedings. Alex has an MBA from F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College, and a BA from Boston University in Environmental Science, Economics, and French. He has written and co-authored numerous publications on corporate strategy and renewable energy. He is a watercolor painter and lives in Bethesda, MD with his wife and two children.
