Ria Carle

Job Titles:
  • Practice Manager
Ria has lived in Fort William for 14 years but grew up in Aberdeenshire, where happy days spent at her grandparents' farm sparked her love of animals. She has a soft spot for companion pets; especially rabbits and guinea pigs and hasn't been without either for the past 16 years. Ria is halfway through her degree in Business Management with The Open University, having gained her Higher National Certificate in 2016. Working in the care industry for 11 years, before moving into the retail sector in 2010, she has developed a passion for client/customer care, and is looking forward to supporting and assisting our clients and their fur-babies.

Ruth Lavin

Job Titles:
  • Animal Care Assistant

Sarah Garven

Job Titles:
  • Veterinary Surgeon
Sarah grew up in Tobermory on Mull, and knew from primary school days that she wanted to be a vet. After qualifying from Edinburgh Vet School, her first job took her back to the west coast where she worked in mixed practice in Campbeltown. Moving to work in Ayrshire and then Wishaw completed almost 5 years in general practice before then studying for her PhD. When kids arrived, a career break began to stretch out a little but eventually the pull of vet work returned and she started at a busy out of hours practice in Falkirk. Returning to practice after a long time away was so rewarding that it prompted her to train as a life coach, in order to support others with their own life changes. Working part time at Ben Nevis Vets as well as running her own coaching business will hopefully still leave some time to enjoy everything the west coast has to offer particularly swimming, trail running, cycling and wildlife spotting. Sarah is enjoying settling in to life in Ardnamurchan with her family and one-eyed rescue cat.

Shela-ann Ryan

Job Titles:
  • Reception & Support Staff
Shela has had a life-long love of animals and Fort William. She's come full circle back to the veterinary profession when she joined our team, having worked with Chris and Fiona Evans when they ran the local vets here in Fort William a wee while ago now. She is an avid horse-woman and in her free time she loves to be outdoors with her grandchildren, horses and collie dog.
