National Innovation Agency is mandated to upgrade the country's status in GII as per National Innovation Agency Act, no 22 of 2019. NIA is working on setting up a "National Innovation Data portal" to gather data related to the Innovation ecosystem and to be the national focal point to supply data on innovation to global indexes... NIA is launching a national mentoring programme annually for technology commercialization to address the commercialization gaps in government, university, cooperation, and individual stakeholders. The proposed program will be mentored by the IP experts of TISC@NIA, who are trained by the WIPO experts under WIPO remote mentoring program... NIA is conducting an annual survey on "Technology Transfer Activities" to identify the gaps and to facilitate the requirements for proper technology commercialization in universities, public and private research institutes
