Dr Chua graduated from the University of Sydney and completed his basic physician's training at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney. He became a fellow to the Heart/Lung Transplant Unit at St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney in 2003 and was involved closely with the management of end-stage heart failure patients, transplantation medicine and post-cardiac transplant care. He completed his interventional fellowship at the very busy cardiology unit of the Westmead Hospital, Sydney in 2004.
