Matthew Powelson - Founder

Matthew Powelson is the founder of 321 Law, Inc. He specializes in IP and estate planning. He is a recognized leader in his practice areas of trademark, anti-counterfeit, and transactional law. He represents clients in a broad spectrum of industries including consumer electronics, wine, food products, apparel, aerospace, beverage, and retail consumer goods. Matt's practice is worldwide and includes the following: 1) brand management and anti-counterfeit work; 2) trademark prosecution and enforcement; 3) intellectual property litigation and enforcement; 4) intellectual property transactions, and 5) estate planning. Matt serves on the Board of Representatives of the California Lawyers Association. Previously, he has served as Chair of the Intellectual Property Law Section of the California Bar and on its Executive Committee. He has also been Chair of the Trademark Interest Group of the IP Section. Matt has also served as the Co-Chair of the China Task Force of the International AntiCounterfeiting Coalition. Prior to founding 321 Law, Matt was a partner at an IP boutique frim where he managed the trademark and transactional practice groups. Matt has also worked in-house as Corporate Counsel at a semiconductor company in Mountain View, CA where we was responsible for licensing and other corporate transactions. Matt is a graduate of the University of Georgia and received his law degree from Santa Clara University School of Law.
