Ankica Kovač

Ankica Kovač is an Assistant Professor at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Croatia. She is head of Power Engineering Laboratory. Ankica holds her Ph.D. in green hydrogen production, i.e. hydrogen production via water electrolysis using solar energy. She is a Guest Editor of the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy. Ankica is the founder of the Regional Hydrogen Energy Conference - RHEC which is going to be held for the first time in May, in Opatija, Croatia. She designed the first Croatian hydrogen-powered bicycle and installed the first Croatian hydrogen refuelling station. To promote hydrogen transportation, in cooperation with Toyota Croatia Inc., she organized Croatia Mirai Challenge as the road trip from Zagreb to Brussels. She is the project leader of ‘Securing electrical energy in the case of climate extremes and natural disasters' within which will be a developed system based on green hydrogen production and usage in fuel cell stack. This project is funded through European Fund for Regional Development. Furthermore, she is the project leader of ‘Advanced methods of green hydrogen production and its transportation' funded through the Croatian Science Foundation. As a member of the Executive Committee of The Collaboration Programme on Advanced Fuel Cells, she is the official representative of the Republic of Croatia. Ankica is a member of the Council of the President of the Republic of Croatia for Energy Transition and Vice President of the Croatian Hydrogen Association. She was awarded the Croatian Woman of Influence Award in the category of Leadership and Innovation.

Elmar Fürst

Elmar Fürst is an Associate Professor at the Institute for Transport and Logistics Management at WU Vienna, Austria. He has been involved in numerous international and national projects on sustainability in the domain of transport and particularly in accessible mobility and transport and had the lead in many of these projects. He is author of many reviewed and non-reviewed journal papers, books and other publications, speaker at conferences and reviewer in several contexts. Furthermore, he is chairman of the Hilfsgemeinschaft, the Austrian Association Supporting the Blind and Visually Impaired and chairman and member of a number of scientific and standardization committees.

Frano Barbir

Frano Barbir is Professor Emeritus at Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, University of Split, Croatia, where he is employed as a Project Activity Leader at Center of Excellence for Science and Technology - Integration of Mediterranean Region (STIM). He has been actively involved in hydrogen and fuel cell technology R&D, engineering and applications since 1989, working in U.S. as a researcher and R&D manager in both industry (Energy Partners, Proton Energy Systems) and universities (University of Miami, University of Connecticut) and in Turkiye as the Associate Director of Science and Technology of the UNIDO - International Center for Hydrogen Energy Technologies. His research interests include heat and mass transfer in PEM fuel cells, effects of operational conditions on fuel cell performance and durability, design of fuel cells and fuel cell stacks and systems, fuel cell applications, and hydrogen energy concept and its role in context of energy future. He has authored and/or co-authored more than 300 papers on hydrogen and fuel cells published in scientific and technical journals, books, encyclopedias, and conference proceedings, as well as 7 U.S. and one EU patent on various aspects fuel cell stack and system design and operation. His book, PEM Fuel Cells: Theory and Practice, published by Elsevier/Academic Press in 2005 (2 nd edition came out in 2013), has been translated to Chinese, Korean and Farsi, and it is being used as a textbook at many universities all over the world. He is the Founding President of Croatian Hydrogen Association, a Vice President of the International Association of Hydrogen Energy, and a Croatian representative in the States Representatives Group at Clean Hydrogen Partnership. He is a member of the Croatian Academy of Technical Sciences, and a recipient of Croatian Annual National Science Award lifetime achievement in technical sciences. Prof. Barbir holds a Dipl.-Ing. degree in mechanical engineering and an M.Sc. degree in chemical engineering both from University of Zagreb, Croatia, and a Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL.

Henrik Lund

Henrik Lund (born 2 July 1960) is a Danish engineer (M.Sc.Eng.1985) and Professor in Energy Planning at Aalborg University in Denmark. He holds a Ph.D. in Implementation of Sustainable Energy Systems (1990), and a Dr. Techn. in Choice Awareness and Renewable Energy Systems (2009). Henrik Lund is a highly ranked world-leading researcher. He is listed among ISI Highly Cited researchers ranking him among the top 1% researchers in the world within engineering and on the Stanford list of top 2% scientists. Henrik Lund has many years of management experience as head of department for approx. 200 staff persons (1996-2002), head of section for approx. 50 persons (2014 - 2016) and head of research group of 20-30 persons (2002 - present). During his time the Sustainable Energy Planning research group at Aalborg University has now grown to approx. 30 staff members including 4 professors. Henrik Lund is Editor-in-Chief of Elsevier's high-impact journal Energy with annual 10000+ submissions. Henrik Lund is the author of more than 400 books and articles including the book "Renewable Energy Systems". He is the architect behind the advanced energy system analysis software EnergyPLAN, which is a freeware used worldwide that have form the basis of more than 200 peer reviewed journal papers around the world.

Hrvoje Pandžić

Hrvoje Pandžić received his PhD from the University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (UNIZG-FER) in 2011. After graduation, he was a Post-doctoral Researcher at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA, 2012-2014. Currently, he is a Professor and the Head of the Department of Energy and Power Systems at UNIZG-FER. He is also the Head of the Demand Response Laboratory at UNIZG-FER and the Principle Investigator in a number of international and national research projects. He published over 70 papers in Q1/Q2 journals by the JCR rankings. He received many awards for his work, such as the award Science by the Government of the Republic of Croatia, 2018, Award for the highest scientific and artistic achievements in Croatia by the Croatian Academy of Science and Arts, 2018, Award Vera Johanides by the Croatian Academy of Engineering, 2015. He is an Associate Member of the Croatian Academy of Science and Arts as well as the Croatian Academy of Engineering.

Ivan Petrović

Ivan Petrović is a full professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb, Croatia, where he heads the Laboratory for Autonomous Systems and Mobile Robotics - LAMOR (http://lamor.fer.hr). He is also co-director of the Centre of Research Excellence for Data Science and Advanced Cooperative Systems (https://across-datascience.zci.hr/en/zci). His research work has been concerned with various aspects of automatic control, state estimation, and machine learning and their application in the control of complex technical systems, with the autonomy of mobile robots and vehicles being among his main research interests in the last twenty years. He published his research results as the author or co-author of more than 80 papers in scientific journals and more than 220 papers in proceedings of international conferences. He has actively participated as a collaborator or principal investigator in more than 70 research and development projects at the national and EU level. The results of his research have been incorporated into several industrial products. He is an active member of national and international professional societies. Among others, he is a full member of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts and the Croatian Academy of Engineering, chair of the Technical Committee on Robotics of the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC), and a permanent board member of the European Conference on Mobile Robots. Joeri Van Mierlo

Joeri Van Mierlo is a key player in the Electromobility scene. He is professor at the Vrije Universiteit Brussels, one of the top universities in this field. Prof. Dr. ir. Joeri Van Mierlo leads the MOBI - Electromobility Research Centre and is head of ETEC - Electric Engineering and Energy Technology department. Prof. Van Mierlo was visiting professor at Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden (2012). He is expert in the field of Electric and Hybrid vehicles (batteries, power converters, energy management simulations) as well as to the environmental and economical comparison of vehicles with different drive trains and fuels (LCA, TCO). Prof. Van Mierlo was Vice-president of AVERE (2013-2019) , the European Electric Vehicle Association (www.avere.org) and Vice-president (2015-2019) of its Belgian section AVERE-Belgium (www.ev.be). Katherine Woodthorpe

Dr Katherine Woodthorpe AO FTSE is one of Australia's most influential people in innovation and President of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering (ATSE). A Scientist, industry leader and climate champion, she has led some of Australia's most pioneering organisations working on the net zero transition and supporting the shift to electrify everything. She is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has been a Fellow of ATSE since 2015. In 2017, she received an Order of Australia for her ongoing service to research and technology innovation in Australia. She has been a professional director for over 20 years including as Chair of Natural Hazards Research Australia, the Antarctic Science Foundation and the HEARing Cooperative Research Centre. She has been a Director of the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute, Bioplatforms Australia (NCRIS), the Australian Renewable Energy Agency, Vast Solar, and listed companies Sirtex and Anteotech. She previously chaired the National Climate Science Advisory Committee and currently chairs the Government's "Vision 2040" committee reviewing the strategy for investment in medical research for the next two decades. Prof. Subhasis Chaudhuri

Professor Chaudhuri is the Kamalnayan Bajaj Chair Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and was the Professor In-charge of IIT Bombay Monash Academy at IIT Bombay. He earned his BTech degree from IIT Kharagpur in 1985 and MSc from the University of Calgary, Canada in 1987. He completed his PhD from the University of California, San Diego, USA in 1990. Prof. Chaudhuri has held various administrative positions at IIT Bombay including Deputy Director (Academic and Infrastructural Affairs), Dean (International Relations), Head of the Electrical Engineering Department and Wardenship of Hostels. Prof. Subhasis Chaudhuri works in the area of image processing, computer vision, machine learning and computational haptics. Some of the areas where he has contributed significantly include - depth recovery from defocused images, image super-resolution, blind deconvolution, hyper-spectral image visualization and pattern recognition in remote sensing images. Prof. Chaudhuri has received numerous awards for his research. These include the G. D. Birla Award for Scientific Research, NASI-Reliance Industries Platinum Jubilee Award for Application Oriented Innovation, J. C. Bose National Fellowship, Prof. H. H. Mathur Excellence in Research Award of IIT Bombay, Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize in Engineering Sciences, Swarnajayanti Fellowship and Hari Om Prerit Dr. Vikram Sarabhai Research Award. He is also a Distinguished Alumnus of IIT Kharagpur. Prof. Chaudhuri has been a Fellow of Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), Indian Academy of Sciences (IASc), National Academy of Sciences (NASI) and Indian National Science Academy (INSA). He is also a Fellow of IEEE. Prof. Chaudhuri has been on the editorial boards of SIAM Journal SIIMS since 2018 and International Journal of Computer Vision (IJCV) since 2004. Tony Harper

Tony Harper FREng is the Challenge Director for the Faraday Battery Challenge at UKRI (UK Research and Innovation). In this capacity, he is responsible for the UK Government's £541m investment in Scientific Research, Business-led Innovation and national scale-up infrastructure for Battery Technology. Tony has 32 years of experience in automotive product development and was previously the Director of Engineering Research at Jaguar Land Rover. Tony joined Jaguar as a Graduate Engineer in 1986 with an honours degree in Aeronautical Engineering at Imperial College London. He spent his early career developing the first Airbag-based passive safety systems and developing a number of sports car concepts including the first and second generation Jaguar XK8. In the early 1990's, Tony led Jaguar's development and use of pioneering Knowledge Based Engineering systems automating sophisticated rule-based Design tasks, something that today is referred to as Artificial Intelligence. In 1999, Tony was appointed as head of Jaguar's Vehicle Engineering team responsible for Vehicle Concept Design, Aerodynamics and Computer Aided Engineering in particular overseeing the early development of the first all-aluminium Jaguar XJ. After a period of secondment to Ford's International Operations, Tony joined Jaguar Land Rover's combined Product Development Operations in 2006 to head up the Research and Advanced Engineering group. In this capacity, Tony was responsible for the identification, development and de-risking of all new technology into JLR products for over 10 years. Tony is a Fellow of The Royal Academy of Engineering, Chartered Engineer, fellow of the IMechE and a member of the Automotive Council Technology Group.

Ádám Török

Ádám Török holds MSc in Transport Engineering since 2004 from BME and MSc in Financing Engineering since 2007 from BME (Budapest University of Technology and Economics). He received PhD in Transport Sciences from the BME Faculty of Transport Engineering in 2008. Since 2004 he has been an active member of the Transport Scientific Association and, since 2012, a member of the Hungarian Logistics Association. Since 2016 he also holds PhD in Business and Management from the BME Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences. His research activity was awarded by the János Bólyai Scholarship of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 2011-2014 and 2016-2019 and the Program for New National Excellence in 2017. In 2019 he earned habilitation. He earned a Doctor of Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 2021. Since 2022 he has been a full professor at BME. Has more than 300 publications.
