Hi! I am Alexandra Reed but I go by Alex. I have a little brother who's in 5th grade. I have 3 pets; a golden retriever, Biscuit, and two cats, Franklin and Candee. Currently, I am attending San Jacinto College to pursue Teaching E-6th grade. During my free time, I like to paint or draw outdoor scenes, as well as visit the movie theater. I am most looking forward to working with kids and seeing them excited about exploring the museum. Fun fact: I have been to Japan and Singapore. Ashlee May

I grew up in Liberty, Texas but attended Barbers Hill K-12. I played volleyball for Wake Forest University and majored in Elementary Education. Through my time being a student-athlete , I traveled to many countries and have a huge love for seeing education presented in different cultures. I taught 2 nd grade for six years and am now on my second year of being an Elementary PE Coach. I love being back and seeing all the experiences and opportunities that the kids here have to grow and learn. I am married to Myles and we have two kids. Myles and I live on my family farm and are continuing to raise cattle, bale hay, and run a grass farm in Liberty County.

Ashley Shibley

Ashley Shibley is the current marketing director for Patients Emergency Room, and is an active member of many boards and organizations in the community. Prior to her career, Ashley was a Kilgore Rangerette and a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. After graduation, Ashley had stints in communications, public relations, and television news, where she was an anchor and reporter. She and her husband, Adam, and their two children, Adelyn and Ace, reside in Chambers County.

Averi Henderson

Hi! I am Averi Henderson! I am the youngest of 4 girls. I have a dog named Kooper. I am attending Lee College for basics with a plan to transfer to the University of Houston Clear Lake majoring in Early Childhood Education. Chris is the Asset/Risk Manager for Chambers County, overseeing the county's liability and insurances while ensuring transparency in the procurement process. Married to his wife Amber for 5 years, they are parents to 3 children. As a 5th generation Mont Belvieu resident, Chris' deep community roots inspire him to serve on the board of the museum, dedicated to creating a nurturing environment for learning and exploration for the area's children.

Cornell Jones

Jessica Ligon

Jessica has worked in a variety of capacities within the field of education for the past twenty-one years. Her experiences include teaching in early childhood and public elementary classroom settings, private education center management, non-profit school-based programs, and instructing undergraduate education majors at Texas State University and Lamar University. A a graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma and Southwest Texas State University; she holds teaching certificates in early childhood, elementary, and special education. Jessica has been married to her husband, Brian, for eighteen years and together they have one son, Zak. Her family enjoys church activities, sports, games, movies, and spending time outdoors. Jessica loves helping families and children connect through play at the Chambers County Children's Museum!

Jill Abshire

Julie Abalos

Julie Abalos, a graduate of Texas A&M University has had a career in early childhood development and worked with children in a variety of capacities over the last 30+ years.Julie loves serving at her local church, volunteering at Houston Welcomes Refugees and the afterschool program Beach Club. She also likes to read, play games and pickleball. She especially loves spending time with her husband, Steve, and their three adult children.

Karla Dean

Karla is a retired teacher who taught the Biological Sciences, Leadership, and Forensics for 27 years. She is a member and President of Delta Kappa Gamma, Soil and Water Conservation Board, Lions Organization, Book Club, and Trinity Episcopal Church. She enjoys horseback riding, baling hay and mowing, reading, painting, puzzles, and nurturing her three grandchildren.

Kenzie Simunek

Macy Middleton

Macy is a Marketing Consultant with over 13 years of experience with small businesses and startups. She has a BS in Advertising from The University of Texas at Austin and worked for the Austin Rodeo and Sweet Leaf Tea Company before she went to Rice University for her MBA in Entrepreneurship. Since then she has served various small businesses and tech startups setting up marketing programs, researching and surveying potential customers, and creating retention programs. In addition, she builds websites, creates graphics, and builds communication programs. She is a mom to 4 children, and is married to Mayes Middleton, who is a Texas State Senator for District 11. "As a mom of 4, my days are full of serving, caring, teaching, and playing. I'm so inspired when I see their little "lightbulbs" turn on when they are experiencing or learning something new. I see the value of those experiences both inside and outside of the classroom and it is my goal to turn their education into a love of learning. That is the focus of the Children's Museum. To come along side parents and teachers in this formative age and supplement the children's learning in a play-centered way. I am the President of the Board of Directors and I have loved watching the Museum move from ideation to creation."

Matthew Harrington

Hi! I am Matthew Harrington. I have a mom, dad, an older sister, and a brother who is 10 years younger than me. I am attending Lamar University to earn my Masters in Clinical Psychology. When I am not studying, I like to take pictures of nature and wildlife. Megan Campbell

Megan is a life-time learner and mother of two boys. She feels strongly that education should be derived through an immersion experience that ignites the senses. She was raised in Chambers County, and has been married to her wonderful husband, Danny, since 2010. Megan has a degree in interdisciplinary studies with a concentration education from the University of Texas at Dallas. She has been an early childhood educator since 2010, teaching kindergarten and first grade. Megan is excited to serve on the board and assist in a fun and educational safe place for all children to grow and learn with their families and peers.

Mrs. Courtney Caylor

Mrs. Courtney Caylor is an employee of Enterprise Products, Houston Region Operations. As a Senior Administrative Assistant, her responsibilities are vast, however with her passion for the community she thrives in public relations for community efforts and events. Courtney is an active board member for the Chambers County Children's Museum, Junior Diabetes Research Foundation- Baytown Chapter, and Goose Creek ISD Education Foundation. She also enjoys camping and boating with her husband, three children, and dog. Courtney is a graduate of Auburn University. She has over 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.

Penny Robinson

Hi! I am Penny Robinson. I am married to my husband of 42 years, Marty. We have a daughter, Alicia Hamilton, son-in-law, Jeff Hamilton, and grandchildren, Braeden, Cadence, and Levi Hamilton. Sandra Duree

Sandra Duree is a lifetime educator committed to excellence in education. Over the course of her career, she has served as a teacher, curriculum coordinator, principal, and a national consultant providing workshops in the areas of Reading, Writing, School Reform, and Leadership. For the past 15 years, she has worked in Barbers Hill ISD where she serving as the Deputy Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction prior to her retirement at the end of 2021.
