Chronic Liver Disease (CLD) is one of the most common causes of mortality and morbidity worldwide. The most common causes of liver disease include viral hepatitis (hepatitis B, C and D), alcohol related liver disease, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) or metabolic dysfunction Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD) and autoimmune liver disease such as primary biliary cholangitis (PBC). In order to understand the global impact of CLD, The Global Liver Council (GLC) was created to include renowned experts from different regions of the world with interest in these liver diseases to collaborate and exchange their views. GLC also collaborate with Global NASH Council (GNC) which include over 267 experts from 61 countries.
