Kurt Dermen, PhD, serves as director of the UBMI Center. He is a Senior Research Scientist in the Department of Psychiatry, Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Kurt is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 30 years of experience in the development, research, and training of motivational interviewing interventions. He has been a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) since its inception in 1997. Other activities that bring him joy include birding, sailing, weather observation, and contra dancing... We work with training clients locally in the Buffalo area, across New York State, and nationally.
