Bob has over 25 years of experience as an electrical power engineer, engineering manager, project and program manager, business development professional, and leader. His substation engineering experience includes protective relays and controls, schematic design, wiring diagrams, bills of material, physical layout, and construction coordination for various transmission and distribution projects. Bob has solid expertise in all areas of substation and grid interconnection project execution, including design and engineering, as well as the construction & commissioning of substations and high-voltage equipment. He is an outstanding leader with the ability to provide classroom instruction in areas pertaining to substation engineering, as well as the aptitude to recruit top talent, retain strong teams, and uphold financial obligations.

Marc is a seasoned Utility professional with a career spanning 20 years. His experience is multifaceted, which includes Electric, Gas, Steam Transmission, and Distribution (T&D), in addition to Distributed Resource Integration. Over the years, he held positions of increased responsibility which included Engineering Supervisor for generation, substation, and transmission functions, Manager for engineering and planning operations, distributed resource integration programs and projects, and Project Manager for gas operations T&D developments. Marc is known for his commitment to safety, integrity, focus on continuous improvement, and outstanding performance. He possesses a people-centric approach to leadership, is skilled at building and managing cross-functional self-reliant teams, and is accomplished in delivering desired business goals and outcomes.

Don Taylor - CEO, President

Don Taylor began his tenure with Welty 25 years ago in a Project Management role, which aligned with his former construction and management experience. After five years of growing under Jerry Welty's leadership, Don and Jerry formed a partnership in 1996 that resulted in the formation of Welty Building Company Ltd. Don was appointed President of Welty in 1996 and CEO in 1999 and has continued to build Welty's reputation of excellence with foresight in planning and superior end results.

Gretchen Horn

Gretchen specializes in project and portfolio management for electric utility projects. She focuses on project planning, establishing goals that promote timely and efficient delivery, and monitoring project activity. She has managed over 200 transmission line and substation projects. These projects include substation and line siting, civil substation design, permitting, transmission line design, substation electrical and protection and controls design, material procurement, and substation and line construction. Additionally, Gretchen managed the efforts of external environmental and engineering consulting firms including conducting regularly scheduled status meetings, serving as the liaison between internal and external parties, and establishing and maintaining consultant milestone submittals and internal technical and constructability reviews.

Jay Griffith - EVP

Jay Griffith joined Welty from ExxonMobil/AES with more than forty years of general business management experience. In his position, he will play an instrumental role in the overall company growth strategy.

John Visner

John has over 18 years of experience as a mechanical engineer, project manager and operations portfolio manager serving utility, industrial and transit clients. His substation and transmission project management experience includes substation expansions, ring bus additions, terminal upgrades, mis-operation relay replacements and transmission line reconductor/rebuilds. As a project management professional, John exhibits strong skills in forecasting, accruals, scheduling and resource management. Acting with uncompromising integrity, openness and leading by example, John has proven success attracting, retaining and engaging top talent in the power transmission industry.

Josh Shafer

Josh is an electric power engineer with over 14 years of experience working with high voltage substation equipment as well as controls commissioning, testing, and maintenance. He is an accomplished project manager and is well-versed with a variety of substation design, protection and controls design, and construction support projects within the power delivery industry. Josh has extensive experience with the design and management of projects for the gas and electric utilities of residential and commercial customers.

Michael Horn

Michael has more than 40 years of experience in the electric utility industry as a civil engineer, transmission line engineer, project manager, and engineering director. His experience in transmission line design and project management has made him especially adept at developing detailed project scopes and completing detailed design reviews for electric transmission line projects. In his current position, he will lead a team of transmission line design engineers to assist electric utilities in meeting their goals for improving and expanding the transmission grid. Scott Armstrong

Scott Armstrong joined Welty in 2010 serving the Construction group before leading the Infrastructure group and serving as Deputy Construction Manager on the City of Akron's, Ohio Canal Interceptor Tunnel (OCIT) project. Currently, Scott is leading as the Distribution Portfolio Manager for the Energy group. He previously served as Vice President and Division Manager for SAIC's Engineering and Infrastructure Business Unit. He has more than 30 years of engineering consulting and operations experience.
