Albert joined Slater Heelis in May 2018 and throughout his training contract with us, worked across a few different departments.
After completing his training contract in our Employment team, he qualified and was admitted to the roll of solicitors in December 2020.
Albert completed the GDL at the Manchester Law School (MMU) with a Dean's List Award for the highest score in Contract Law.
Further to his legal work, Albert also speaks three languages: English, French and Akan.

Amy qualified as a Solicitor in 2018 and joined Slater Heelis in 2022, after spending time in different firms across the North West gaining experience in all aspects of Family Law.
Amy advises clients on matters relating to marriage, cohabitation and separation, to include pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements, divorce proceedings, financial settlements, child arrangements and property disputes.
Amy is often praised for giving open, honest and straightforward advice.
Amy is a member of Resolution and is committed to resolving family disputes in a constructive way. She also sits as the Secretary for Manchester's YRes Committee, a "young" Resolution group for solicitors with less than 10 years' post-qualification experience.

Angela has over 20 years' experience in private client work, and specialises in residential conveyancing. Having qualified as a solicitor in 1993 after gaining a degree in Law from the University of Sheffield and obtaining the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice at Manchester Metropolitan University, Angela worked at a well respected Law Firm in Stockport for the majority of her career, after which she worked for a modern IT lead national conveyancing company in their sales technical team before joining Slater Heelis in 2015.
Angela has gained experience in all areas of residential conveyancing and developed a wealth of knowledge having dealt with different types of residential transactions and completed thousands of transactions throughout her career.
Angela keeps up to date with professional development and currently works part-time at our Timperley Office.

Ashleigh joined Slater Heelis in August 2006. She specialises in Lasting Powers of Attorney, the administration of Estates and Will drafting and was admitted as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in 2014. Ashleigh's clients benefit from her friendly, approachable and reassuring manner when dealing with what are potentially sensitive issues.

Basit joined Slater Heelis in 2021 as a Paralegal, and started his training contract with us in April 2022.

Bernice joined Slater Heelis as an IT Trainer after being a self-employed Training Consultant; helping businesses make the most of their IT training and strategy.
Before being a self-employed Consultant, Bernice was a primary school teacher and has also worked as a Trainer for British Aerospace and The Bank of Scotland; giving her great experience that she will be applying across the firm.

Beth was admitted to the roll of solicitors in September 2021 and joined Slater Heelis shortly after qualification.
She graduated from the University of Central Lancashire in 2018 with a 2:1 in Law and Psychology and continued her studies at UCLan to obtain her Masters in Legal Practice.
Beth has experience with drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, including, Framework Agreements, Terms and Conditions, Software as a Service Agreements and Marketing Agreements.

Chloe joined the family team as a solicitor in October 2021.
Chloe has a wealth of experience working as a family solicitor whilst qualified and in her pre-qualification days as a trainee solicitor. Chloe has experience in all areas of family law including divorce/dissolution, domestic violence injunctions and child arrangement orders.
Chloe is also a member of Resolution, a body whose extensive members consist of specialist family lawyers and other professionals committed to the constructive resolution of family disputes. She is also involved with Manchester's Young Solicitors Group.

David is a Family Law Solicitor based at our Sale Commercial Office.
After graduating with a degree in English Literature from the University of Leeds, he completed the Graduate Diploma in Law on a part-time basis at Manchester Law School (MMU), receiving a Dean's List award for the highest mark in land law. He then won a scholarship to study the Legal Practice Course where he obtained a distinction and was named as the top-performing part-time student in Business Law and Practice.
David is a member of Resolution, the national organisation of family lawyers committed to non-confrontational divorce, separation and other family law problems. He has also been involved with the Manchester Trainee Solicitors Group in organising various education events for trainees in the Greater Manchester region.

Denise joined Slater Heelis in November 2021. She is based at our Manchester office.
Before joining Slater Heelis, Denise was a pupil-in-chambers in the Projects and International Arbitration department in a leading law firm in Malaysia and worked at a Manchester City Centre firm. She was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor in Malaysia in 2019 before qualifying in the UK in October 2021.
Denise assists the Dispute Resolution team with property litigation matters.

Gabriella has been with Slater Heelis since January 2019, joining the firm after graduating from the University of Manchester with a first class degree in Law. Prior to starting her Training Contract, Gabriella worked as a Paralegal within the Family team and also assisted in the Crime and Regulatory department.
Gabriella commenced her Training Contract in April 2021 and has completed seats within the Residential Property and Dispute Resolution departments. Alongside her role at the firm, she studied part-time and attained her LPC qualification in October 2021. Gabriella is now doing her final seat in the Family team and is due to qualify later this year.

Hannah is a Solicitor with our Crime and Regulatory team. Her specialisms lie within abuse of trust matters as well as road traffic offences. She qualified as a Solicitor in November 2019 and is also an accredited police station representative.
From advising suspects during police interviews to defendants appearing before the Magistrates' and Crown Courts, Hannah has plentiful experience in working with a vast range of individuals. Hannah also has experience advising Police Officers involved in misconduct proceedings and representing Foster Carers who face allegations made against them by children in their care.

Helen has been a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives since 1996. Helen qualified at a city centre firm and joined Slater Heelis in 2013. Helen's clients benefit from her highly professional and focused approach to handling all conveyancing matters dealing with a variety of situations from simple to highly complex cases.

Jay has extensive knowledge and experience in all areas of commercial and residential property law.
He acts for a variety of clients including property investors, developers, corporate investors, private landlords, corporate landlords, commercial property portfolio managers, mainstream lenders as well as private corporate lenders.
He also specialises in acting for lenders on short-term development loans, bridging finance and for private property developers and advises clients on all property aspects of infrastructure projects and renewable energy projects.
With the high-level of experience and expertise he has acquired throughout his career, Jay provides an efficient, knowledgeable and user-friendly service to all the clients he acts for.

Jodi is a Family Law Solicitor and has experience dealing with child matters as well as financial claims on divorce and separation.
She qualified as a Solicitor 2018 at Ward Hadaway where she spent the first 3 years as a solicitor before moving to Slater Heelis in February 2021. Prior to qualifying Jodi, gained experience as a Paralegal in a number of areas including civil litigation and personal injury.
Jodi has experience in all areas of family law including divorce and separation, cohabitation, joint property disputes, financial applications, injunctive applications and child arrangement orders. She prides herself on giving straightforward and honest advice whilst managing clients expectations.
Jodi is an active committee member of YRes, and a member of Resolution. She also plays an active role in the Business Hub of Rugby League Cares providing advice and assistance to both current and past professional Rugby League Players.

Jonathan is a Partner in the Commercial Property team and is based in Manchester.
Jonathan deals with the acquisition and disposal of commercial property, property finance and general property portfolio management.
He has extensive experience in dealing with property funds, particularly those focused on investment in student accommodation, ground rents and the private rented sector. Jonathan also deals with non-contentious commercial landlord and tenant matters, including the grant, renewal and surrender of leases. Jonathan's clients include developers, private property investors and owner-managed SMEs.

Lauren joined Slater Heelis in January 2021. Prior to this, she was a Paralegal in Dispute Resolution and then completed her training contract, qualifying as a Solicitor in October 2020.
Lauren graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a first class degree and a distinction on the LPC. She was also awarded exceptional student award, highest performing student in commercial litigation and corporate law in her year.
Lauren has experienced in a range of areas including breach of contract, professional negligence, misrepresentation and disputed debt. She has been involved in all stages of proceedings from pre-action through to trial.

In July 2014, Lisa joined Slater Heelis as a Residential Conveyancer and is based at the Sale office.

Mike re-joined Slater Heelis in 2022 with over 13 years litigation and dispute resolution experience advising a broad range of commercial clients on a variety of commercial, property and business related disputes.
Additionally, Mike's practice area includes advising on professional negligence and contract claims.
Prior to his career in law, Mike spent 20 years in the shipping and logistics industry - in commercial and operational management roles - experience that has helped form his business orientated approach.

Mitchel joined Slater Heelis in October 2020 and is a Trainee Solicitor within the Corporate team.
He has attained a Commendation in both his Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) and Legal Practice Course (LPC) with a Master's in Business, Law and Management at the University of Law in Manchester.
Prior to obtaining his GDL and LPC MSc, Mitchel earned an upper Second-Class Honours degree in Psychology at Lancaster University.

Paige obtained her Law degree in 2016 from Lancaster University. She then went onto to gain legal experience as a Family Paralegal at two Lancashire Law Firms whilst undertaking her LPC part time and had experience in dealing with family public law matters and non-molestation Orders. Paige obtained a Masters in Law and LPC qualification in 2019 and then undertook her training contract, undertaking seats in Family Law, Court of Protection Law and Wills and Probate. Paige then qualified as a Solicitor in February 2021 and specialised in Court of Protection work.
Paige joined Slater Heelis in August 2021. Paige specialises in Court of Protection matters including Panel Deputy appointments, Lasting Powers of Attorney appointments, Lay Deputy applications and working with clients who have suffered brain injuries.

Head of our Corporate team, Simon Wallwork is renowned for his corporate law expertise within the life sciences and technology sectors in particular. He regularly features in Chambers and Legal 500 for his broad client base, acting for banks, PLCs, private companies and partnerships, as well as being listed in the Experian Deal Review since 2015 as one of the most active legal advisers in Manchester and North West England.
Stephen Heelis became a partner at the firm. Both ‘Slater' and ‘Heelis' appeared in the firm's name - Cririe, Slater & Heelis.
Stephen Heelis was so admired in local society that in 1853 he was unanimously elected as Alderman for the Borough of Salford, despite not having sat for the council.

William Slater was equally revered in Manchester's society and like Heelis, supported many enterprises and societies. In 1815 he was a member of the Manchester Law Students Society despite not fully qualifying for another five years. Interestingly, Slater was also a passionate Churchman and as a result, was involved in the building of two Anglican churches and the schools attached to them.
