Janet is a partner within, and the Operations Manager of, the Residential Conveyancing Department. Janet has worked at Herbert Smith in London for several years and after moving back to Yorkshire she then headed up large property departments across the county. Richard Hugill

Richard Hugill is a solicitor and partner in our Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department. Richard practises in the Business and Property Courts and acts on behalf of clients in relation to partnership and company shareholder disputes, claims arising from business acquisitions/disposals as well as trading contracts and professional negligence claims. He has considerable experience in making and opposing court applications for asset freezing orders and other types of injunction. Richard also advises and acts in land, property and leasehold disputes (rent reviews, opposed lease renewals, tenant insolvency and restructuring, claims for breaches of covenant, dilapidations, forfeiture and possession, break options, permission to assign/sub-let, etc), contentious aspects of the Electronic Communications Code, valuation disputes relating to land acquisitions/options, adverse possession, trespass, boundary, easement and nuisance disputes as well as freehold covenant issues. In addition to his litigation practice, Richard accepts appointments as an accredited Mediator. He is also the Firm's Compliance Officer for Legal Practice. The Legal 500 (2024 edition): ‘Richard Hugill is a serious litigator and very good tactician who sees the kernel of the dispute and is an excellent judge of litigation tactics and moves.' Robert Onyett - Managing Director

Robert Onyett is a very experienced litigator whose forensic and considered approach has helped steer many clients through often complex or difficult issues to a successful conclusion. As a member of the Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Solicitors, Robert is one of a relatively small number of lawyers with the specialist expertise to advise clients on complex Inheritance Act claims or other disputes concerning Wills, trusts or probates. He also advises clients on property or land disputes, including those relating to ownership, boundaries, easements and covenants and landlord and tenant disputes in both the commercial and residential sectors. He also acts for clients in disputes arising out of insolvencies. As a solicitor and Managing Director of Harrowells Limited, he is also responsible for day-to-day operational management of the firm. Dealing with Matthew Rowley directly was invaluable and always approachable and available. Backed by a superb team around him the experience received from both him and company was exemplary.
