Tim McGill is President of American Canvas Products, Inc. and is passionate about his craft of developing high-quality canvas awning products for his customers. His work has won multiple Excellence Awards at the annual Western Canvas Products Association (WCPA) Expo, and he has earned Best in Show twice.
Tim carries on the 4th generation of the family tent and awnings business started by his great-grandfather. At a young age, Tim was trained by his father, uncle, and grandfather, who were all Master Awning Craftsmen, and continues his training to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and newest fabrics, tools, and designs.
Tim has been President of American Awning since 1987. He has experience in every function of manufacturing, including welding, sewing, and installing. He is also active in his craft's association, WCPA, serving on the Board of Directors for six years as Northern California Director and four years as Vice President.
Tim has relationships with local businesses, including restaurants, hotels, markets, and retail stores. Construction companies and local contractors rely on Tim's expertise in the awning industry, and they bring repeat business to American Canvas Products, Inc.
Tim has an eye for design and is skilled at mechanical engineering. He sees clearly the necessary solutions to bring a design to reality. He understands the requirements during every step of production, including arranging permitting and creating necessary documentation.
When Tim is not working, he enjoys riding his motorcycle cross-country, dirt bike racing, just about anything outdoors: camping, fishing, rollerblading, snowboarding, and traveling.
