Alan is the Glasgow office managing partner and leads the team of 80 staff in our Wellington Street office. He also leads the audit practice in the West of Scotland.
Alan qualified as a chartered accountant in 1998 joining a Big Four firm in that year. During his time there he led the audits on FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 international groups. He joined Baker Tilly (RSM) as a partner in 2009 and has supported the continued growth of our practice in Scotland, particularly in relation to our work with companies seeking additional growth finance or a capital market listing.

Ali Sapsford is Head of Tax at RSM UK. She has been with the firm for over a decade, and represents the tax faculty on our National Leadership Team.
Ali joined RSM in 2009 as a corporate tax partner at our Reading office, before becoming its Office Managing Partner in 2012.

Chris Knowles is the Chief Digital Officer at RSM UK. He has more than 20 years' experience as an IT consultant, is a chartered management accountant, and sits on our National Leadership Team.
Chris started out in IT consulting in 1997, and joined RSM in 2012 to build and lead our technology and management consulting practice. As the Chief Digital Officer, a role he took on in April 2020, Chris guides technology innovation and adoption for our firm and clients.
