Andrew Rowland

Andrew Rowland is an information technology leader who works with nonprofits and associations to align business priorities with highly efficient IT solutions. Andrew spent the last decade working in the K-12 education space operationalizing strategic plans. He loves helping organizations implement cross-functional solutions that can be supported by IT departments. He is a graduate of the Flores Executive MBA Program at Louisiana State University. Andrew lives in New Orleans where he spends his time off working on house projects, in the garden, and at the park with his wife and two young daughters.

Doug Compton

Doug launched his technology career working for an Apple reseller to the government outside Washington, DC.  It was this Apple experience that landed him his first association job in 1992. Doug has used his passion for association technology by helping them understand how technology is not a cost center, but a vital contributor to membership driven organizations.  He has spent his entire career working for or with associations, being CIO for three major DC-based trade associations.  Most recently Doug spent almost 15 years as the CIO for the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America.  Doug brings this rich association experience now to Cimatri's clients. After traveling three years in a RV while working full time (remote before remote was cool), in 2020 Doug and his wife settled in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina. If you are ever traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway, Doug's says wave!

Hugh Seaton

Hugh started his career doing technology transfer at a Taiwanese steel company and has been passionate about both technology and product development ever since. Author of the Construction Technology Handbook and publisher of the Construction Technology Quarterly, Hugh brings together his passion for product management, technology, and AEC in support of CSI and the Crosswalk product. A graduate of Columbia Business School and London Business School, Hugh is fluent in Mandarin and lives in Austin, Texas, where he continues his quest to become a hobbyist software developer.

Laura LaGrow Armstrong

Laura's technology career started in computer support for the U.S. House of Representatives, helping manage the Voting System on the floor of the House. Moving into associations, she found her "niche" as head of IT for several trade associations, planning strategy, aligning business processes to match goals, and managing operations for network, database, website, training, and vendors. Her years of experience in this area helped her make a natural move to consulting associations in a CIO capacity, focusing on helping associations make the best decision about how to align technology and business processes with association mission and goals. She can be heard to say, "Technology is a tool to successful business management, and it takes people to manage both." A recovering English major, her extensive eclectic home library is a symptom of her natural curiosity, and she still plans to write the Great American Novel. She sings soprano in the local chorus, finds travel a life necessity, and gains energy from a great conversation on anything. She lives in Arlington, Virginia.

Maddie Grant

Maddie Grant, CAE is an expert digital strategist and culture designer who focuses on helping organizations prosper during transformational change. She has specific expertise in digital transformation and generational differences in the workplace. She has explored the evolution of culture in the digital age through her books, including Humanize: How People-Centric Organizations Succeed in a Social World (2011), When Millennials Take Over: Preparing for the Ridiculously Optimistic Future of Business (2015), and the Non-Obvious Guide to Employee Engagement (2019).

Nia Delmast

Nia Delmast is a business analyst with experience in education, higher education, non-profit, and technology. She is passionate about using her strategy, analytics, and social sciences skills to help mission-driven organizations achieve their goals. She graduated from Tulane University with her MBA and concentrations in data analytics and entrepreneurial hospitality. She lives in New Orleans and enjoys swing dancing, fitness, and live music in her free time.

Rene Shonerd

Rene started her career in the association industry working in roles in both technology and membership at the American Society of Association Executives. She most enjoys working on technology initiatives that improve staff efficiencies, demonstrate value to the membership or that provide strategic insights to leadership. Most recently, Rene led an IT turnaround at a mid-sized professional association. Rene is a Certified Association Executive with a broad understanding of operations in both professional and trade organizations. Outside the office, Rene performs on an adult rhythm tap team and can frequently be spotted in a local dance fitness class. She lives in Alexandria Virginia with her husband and daughter.

Rick Bawcum

Similar to today's ‘digital natives', Rick developed an early familiarity with technology. His father was one of the original employees of Electronic Data Systems (EDS), so he spent many weekends tagging along to the various data centers where he worked. His first employment in the industry was as a computer operator at a major bank (now VISA) processing credit card transactions. Rick later moved on to Big 6 consulting and various corporate positions in technology and operations leadership roles. He has always believed that skillful use of technology can be transformational. Rick has a penchant for ‘connecting the dots' and helping organizations develop strategic plans that are actionable. Technology choices are not always obvious for business leaders. Rick's passion is to help customers make use of technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence, blockchain and the internet of things as game-changers for their organizations. As the CEO of Cimatri, Rick's role is to ensure the quality. He works with association and non-profit clients on assessments, strategic planning, operations consulting, and information security. Rick's professional experience includes leadership roles in organizations ranging from start-up to Fortune 1000. He enjoys traveling with his wife, their children and grandchildren. They love art, architecture and history.

Sara Kent

Sara Kent is a Business Analyst with over 6 years of project management experience in both higher education institutions and nonprofits. Sara enjoys working cross-functionally on client engagements, digital transformation projects, and IT assessments. Her areas of focus are technology and innovation coaching, developing asynchronous and synchronous learning experiences, curriculum development, and public speaking. Outside the office, Sara enjoys cycling and supporting local restaurants in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Shankar Sundarajan

Shankar started his consulting career delivering large scale CRM implementations for some of the world's best-known brands. Shankar's strong background in technology and passion for delivering purposeful and pragmatic business solutions took him into the association industry. Working directly for CIMA and the AICPA, Shankar has held several senior roles with responsibilities in technology, ranging from business analysis and enterprise application roadmaps, through operations and strategic program delivery. Shankar has also held volunteer leadership positions in associations and non-profits. Shankar brings his years of strategic association technology experience to deliver thoughtful solutions and demonstrable business value to Cimatri's clients.

Siobhan McLaughlin

Siobhan (she/her) brings years of experience in project management, marketing, and operations to Cimatri. With a strong background in non-profits, higher education, and international development, Siobhan is motivated by empowering mission-driven organizations to succeed. A multilingual social scientist and researcher, Siobhan is passionate about building connections and optimizing processes for accessibility and efficiency. Outside of work, Siobhan is a fiber & textile artist, and enjoys hiking, reading, and traveling the world.
