Alice graduated from the Graphic Design course at Falmouth university in the summer of 2023. After working as a health care assistant throughout university, she was keen to continue working within the care sector, whilst also using the skills learnt on her degree course. Harbour provided the perfect transition into her current graduate role.
Alice's interests include reading, writing, sea swimming and going to live music events. In her free time, Alice runs an events company, specialising in live music, with the aim of amplifying the voices of grassroots artists, who are trying to break into the south west music scene. She is an advocate for accessibility and inclusion within the music industry and offers advice to creatives in need of support. Alice enjoy's appearing regularly on local radio shows to talk about the south west event scene.
Alice describes herself as friendly, energetic and approachable, skills that come in handy when networking on Harbour's behalf. Alice is looking forward to developing her network of connections and learning from all the new people and experiences that she encounters.

After a thirty year substance misuse addiction in London, Billy decided that the time had come to change his life or die.
He kept wondering why he spent so much time in jail and street homeless, however never connected it to his drug addiction. In 2010 Billy came to Cornwall in the hope that he could get clean and stay clean. He was admitted to a detox in Plymouth where he spent six weeks then went on to a secondary rehab in Truro where he spent a further five months.
During that time he started to learn about addiction, the consequences and how it can impact so negatively in his life. He states he had no self worth, confidence and was terrified of living life clean. However with the support of staff, peers and my family things for started to change. Billy became a volunteer with We Are With You and at the end of his treatment found out that he had something to give back; others saw this in him as he was unable to see this in myself. Time and support was invested and he started to believe in himself.
During his time as a volunteer, Billy had the opportunity to start a Mutual Aid Partnership (MAP) meeting at Harbour in 2012. Since that time he has seen the most amazing changes and feels privileged to have witnessed them.
Billy was asked to be a trustee of Harbour, and was honoured and subsequently accepted the offer. He has been in recovery and employed by We Are With You as a service user engagement coordinator for numerous years and has not looked back.

Jude has worked in the field of housing and homelessness for over 20 years, gaining a wealth of experience in designing, delivering and commissioning services to support those in need of accommodation and support.
She has worked within local authorities, in small charities and within housing associations, always leading from the front, not afraid to develop new ways of working and championing approaches that take account of the whole person such as psychologically informed environments, trauma informed care and coproduction.
Jude is currently Director of Specialist Housing at A2Dominion Groupworks where she is responsible for development, delivery and strategic management of around 15,000 homes, including keyworker, student accommodation, retirement living, temporary accommodation and supported services for those in vulnerable circumstances. Before this, she was the Head of Homelessness and Transitional Services at the Peabody Group and the Head of Care and Support at Metropolitan Thames Valley.
Jude has been instrumental in securing funds as part of the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government Next Steps Accommodation Programme to develop, remodel and revitalise accommodation to house those with a history of rough sleeping which includes four years-worth of revenue for support costs. Jude was previously with Cornwall Housing in the role of Rough Sleeping Strategic Lead where under her leadership rough sleeping figures reduced by over 45%. Her work included commissioning new initiatives and working in partnership to bring the Housing First model to Cornwall along with The Private Landlords Incentive Scheme and the Short Term Accommodation Resettlement Service (STAR). All these initiatives came from a standing start and Jude and her team worked to tight time frames reaching out to Cornwall's most vulnerable homeless community. As part of this mobilisation Jude involved Harbour Housing enabling them to work on all three of the projects from their commencement enabling development of their outreach services.

Kate grew up just outside London and moved to Cornwall in her teens. After completing her degree in fine art at Exeter, she earned her TEFL certificate and lived and worked in France and China before travelling around Asia. On her return, Kate found a job as a youth worker and gained her postgraduate diploma in youth and community Work which led to her embarking on an MA.
She managed the youth project in St. Austell before moving into a marketing and communications role with a language school which involved travelling in Russia and Eastern Europe. After a three month artist residency at a local gallery and studios, Kate came to Harbour in December 2013. She was attracted by the inclusive approach and willingness to innovate practice to best support vulnerable people and she set up the volunteering and activities programme for residents, paving the way for our tenancy sustainment team.
Kate's role has expanded and now includes applying for funding to sustain and develop the work she started and the charity as a whole. In 2018, Kate enrolled on a PhD and is undertaking practitioner research to produce qualitative and quantitive data and interpretation of the unique model and setting of Harbour Housing. Her aim is to create robust recommendations improving homelessness accommodation for those in active addiction and influencing the current literature and policy to help meet growing needs.
