Our lab focuses on how brain networks give rise to psychiatric symptoms to identify points of intervention using neuromodulation to treat these conditions. We use neurophysiology (surface and intracranial EEG), imaging (structural, DTI, fMRI), and systems neuroscience approaches to understand the brain basis of behavioral and mental health conditions across a range of spatial and temporal scales. From this understanding, we hope to develop targeted approaches to delivering brain stimulation to treat neuropsychiatric disorders. Currently, our lab focuses on the use of both non-invasive methods of neuromodulation, such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and low-intensity focused ultrasound, in addition to deep brain stimulation (DBS) to address psychiatric and neurological conditions...
We are located at the Mission Bay at UCSF. We collaborate with critical partners in neuroradiology, anesthesiology, neurology, genetics, and neurosurgery.
