I am a qualified assessor and IQA. I have worked within the healthcare sector for 25+ years in various roles. I started my journey as a Community health care support worker where I developed a wide range of skills and knowledge in procedures including stoma care, peg feeding, catheterisation, phlebotomy, and tissue viability. I progressed into end-of-life care and became a senior care worker supporting a team of carers. As my career progressed, I moved into residential care and became the Deputy manager of a 90 bedded nursing home for both residential and dementia patients. An opportunity arose and I then completed my level 5 Leadership & management qualification in Health & Social care and became a registered manager with the CQC for a Domiciliary care provider. I am very passionate about passing on my skills and knowledge to other individuals within the healthcare sector and supporting them to achieve recognised qualifications and be the best they can be within their roles. I am very supportive of colleagues and possess organisational skills.

I set up Peak Home Assist to give something back to my community. It was evident to me that in our area there were lots of care providers but none who could give the care of the standard that I wanted to see, in the areas around the peak district which I call my home. I have been successful in my business career and I wanted to use the skills I have learned in business over the years to provide something for my community. Our aim is to build the best care team possible, give them the resources and support to do their job and allow them to deliver the best care possible. Staff development is crucial to us and how we operate. Without the best staff, we cant deliver the best care, so we have invested heavily in our recruitment and staff development programme. We will be the best care provider by being the best care employer.
